Mini Case Study: Optimizing LNG Project with Cryogel? Z Insulation ? Challenge In a recent LNG project in Canada, our client faced a conflict regarding insulation clashing with a major structural beam, which threatened to derail the project timeline and incur substantial costs. The project engineer was on the verge of cutting and redesigning a critical structural beam to accommodate conventional insulation materials. Potential losses could have amounted to tens of thousands of dollars with significant delays. ? Solution We introduced Cryogel Z insulation, a dual-function insulation solution that offers both thermal and acoustic insulation properties. By utilizing Cryogel Z insulation, the client was able to significantly reduce insulation thickness from the conventional 245 mm of cellular glass and mineral wool to just 70 mm. This represented a 70% reduction in insulation thickness, preserving the structural beam and ultimately saving time and money. ? Results The client was able to maintain the project timeline while safeguarding structural elements, demonstrating Cryogel Z insulation’s space and insulation efficiency. The success of this project highlights the importance of innovative insulation solutions in optimizing project outcomes in the LNG sector.
