? Sponsor Spotlight ? Meet Nikita Malhotra,?CFO/COO at Giant Spoon How has being Asian affected your career? Being Asian has dramatically impacted my career. As a child of immigrant parents, it drove my work ethic and need to succeed. I lead with respect and always listen first, ensuring I have all the inputs before deciding.? What advice do you have for Asians in the Advertising industry? Always be open to learning and trying new things. Even if not in your job description, helping a team member or solving a problem is a great opportunity to expand your skills. Also, it's okay if every room you walk into doesn't look like you. Embrace your differences; your point of view matters. Can you tell us more about your career journey? I've spent nearly 20 years working across the marketing and advertising spectrum. I'm the CFO/COO of Giant Spoon, an integrated, independent agency, and a Partner and Chief Financial and Commercial Officer at Deep Blue Sports + Entertainment. Before joining Giant Spoon and Deep Blue, I was the CFO of BBH North America, part of the Publicis Groupe Network, where I oversaw financial planning, strategy, and commercial negotiations. #monthlyspotlight?#apicommunity

?Sponsor Spotlight ? Meet Swathi Chandrasekaran,?Director of Product Management, Advanced Advertising at Paramount Advertising How has being Asian affected your career? ? Being Asian has had an unassuming yet profound impact on my career - shaping my values, work ethic, and approach to problem-solving. Growing up in India, I was deeply rooted in a culture that values education and community. This upbringing instilled a strong sense of discipline and pursuit of learning, particularly in the STEM fields. My engineering and data science background provided a solid foundation for analytical thinking, which has been invaluable in my career as a product manager. The sense of community I had growing up also motivated me to look at a career in product management, a field where I rely on and communicate with my incredible teams of users, stakeholders, engineers, data scientists, and industry experts to make the best decisions on products and features to bring to life. ? Advice for the AAPI community? ? Lean into your strengths, even if they differ from everyone else’s! Embrace your unique perspective and experiences that have molded you. Your background can provide the creativity that differentiates you in the industry. Something else I often remind myself of is the importance of constantly staying curious, humble, and seeking to learn. ? Can you describe your role at Paramount and your interests? ? I’m a director of product for Paramount’s Advanced Advertising team, leading Vantage, the Convergent Planning and Activation product for Paramount. I work with many excellent teams - from operations, audience activation, sales, engineering, and data science, and collaborate with vendors across the industry to ideate and build the best advertising capabilities for Paramount. I was born and raised in Chennai, India, and moved to New York for grad school. Outside work, I read a lot, write a little, solve cryptic crosswords and math puzzles, and connect with friends over sports and board games. ? #monthlyspotlight #aapicommunity
