? So proud of our UAA Scholarship Recipient - Quincy! Best of luck at Skywest! Here is his story: I am currently living in Goodyear Arizona, but San Francisco is where I call home. I began my aviation career with United Airlines as a ramp agent out at SFO. I was inspired to pursue my career as a pilot from my time working on the Move Team where I first had the opportunity to sit in flight deck of a commercial aircraft. My biggest "this is so cool" moment was when I had the opportunity to brake ride a 787 from the gate to the maintenance base for work. It was such an incredible experience to have that point of view sitting in that left seat as we moved about the lit up taxiways at night. Through my work I was fortunate to hear about and attend the United Aviate Academy as a part of the second ever "Bravo Class" at the school. I have since gone on to complete all 7 of my ratings from private to multi-engine instructor graduating in July of 2023 . Throughout my time at the Academy I have taken on roles within the Multi-Engine Department, became a Progress Check Instructor, and most recently an Assistant Chief Pilot. Having received a scholarship from PAPA truly gave me the support, mentorship, and the opportunity to pursue this career and has been a reason for part of my success thus far. This coming spring I look forward to my transition to the ERJ with Skywest Airlines where I hope to eventually find my way back home at KSFO. My advice to the next generation of pilots is to really find the "why" behind your decision to become a pilot and to use that "why" as a driving force to motivate and give you joy each and every day. Being able to make my parents proud of what their son does and to be able to provide a life full of perspective through travel for my future family is something that will continue to bring me joy through my pursuit of aviation success. #AsianPilots #AviationScholarship #PAPASocial
