The Asian Pacific American Lawyers Association of New Jersey, Inc. is New Jersey's only Pan-Asian bar association serving Asian American attorneys throughout the state. APALA-NJ, founded in 1985 and incorporated in 1993, is the largest specialty bar association that collectively represents the interests of Asian and Pacific American lawyers in the State of New Jersey.

On March 18, 2025, APALA-NJ attended NJWLA’s 17th WILL Platinum Gala, honoring esteemed individuals for their exceptional achievements and contributions to gender equity challenges and other issues unique to women in the legal profession. Congratulations to the many awardees, including Honorable Ann Marie Donio, U.S.M.J., Honorable Lisa P. Thornton, A.J.S.C. (posthumously), Linda G. Harvey from Greenberg Dauber Epstein & Tucker, Elizabeth Forminard from Johnson & Johnson, Candice M. Alfonso from the NJ Office of Diversity and Inclusion, and Robyn Gigl from Dilworth Paxson LLP. And many congratulations to NJWLA on another fantastic and successful Gala!
APALA-NJ very proudly attended the swearing-in and reception of the Honorable Jeyanthi Rajaraman, who is the first South Asian Judge in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Union County. Prior to the bench, Judge Rajaraman was the associate director of the American Bar Association Center on Children and the Law. She was also the former chief counsel of the Family Representation Project at Legal Services of New Jersey, an ex-public defender, and an adjunct professor at Seton Hall Law School. Judge Rajaraman has dedicated her career to public service, and we congratulate her, again, on her historic confirmation!

The Better Together event is a networking event focused on the importance of diversity in the legal industry. We had a wonderful time meeting law students and other legal professionals from various backgrounds. Congratulations to APALSA for another successful Better Together event!
