Empowering Asian Americans in NYC since 1989
关于我们
Established in 1989, the Asian American Federation (AAF) is the strongest leadership organization in New York serving 1.5 million Asian New Yorkers. Our mission is to raise the influence and well-being of the pan-Asian American community through research, policy advocacy, public awareness, and nonprofit support. We do this work in partnership with 70 member agencies that are deeply rooted in our communities and provide social services to those in need. Asians are the fastest growing community in our City and State, and we advocate to ensure that our community is visible, our voices are heard, and our stories are told. We offer programs focused on community safety, mental health, economic empowerment, immigrant integration, and civic engagement to help connect Asian New Yorkers with the resources they need.

The Asian American Federation is thrilled to announce the launch of Ballot Builder! This?innovative and nonpartisan voter education tool is designed to activate Asian communities in New York ahead of this November’s general election. Asian Americans are the fastest growing electorate in NYC and an increasingly powerful voting bloc that can decide elections up and down the ballot. However, Asian New Yorkers often have lower registration and turnout rates, and immigrant communities with limited English proficiency are particularly vulnerable to election disinformation. That’s why we’re partnering with Branch Politics to launch Ballot Builder, a first-of-its-kind online platform in New York. Tailored to Asian American voters, it provides personalized information on candidates and ballot measures in English and eight additional languages. Available in Arabic, Bangla, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, Punjabi, Tagalog, and Urdu, Ballot Builder helps break down language barriers to empower Asian voters with the facts they need to make informed choices about our future and our democracy. Check out Ballot Builder here today! https://aaf.branch.vote/

?? AAF’s Executive Director Jo-Ann Yoo will step down by the end of 2024. Over her 13-year tenure, Jo-Ann transformed AAF from a relatively small organization of $1 million to a?$21 million organization. “Jo-Ann Yoo made it her life’s work to ensure that? Asian New Yorkers have a voice and seat at tables where decisions are made. Under her guidance, Asian Americans in New York have grown into a? powerful, influential group who cannot be ignored.” said Kim Lee, Board Chair. “We are grateful for her leadership, contributions and vision.” The AAF Board of Directors is conducting a nationwide executive search to identify a new leader who will uphold and advance the mission and values that have established AAF as a powerful advocate for Asian American communities.?
