Remember how much FOMO you had from missing this Membership Promotion & YEA Thursday Night Football event? Well have no fear (anymore) because we are hosting another one for March Madness on 3/27! This event is FREE but we'd love if you registered online at ashraesd.org so we have an idea of how many professionals will be in attendance. I enjoyed having the opportunity to facilitate a discussion on ethics at the ASHRAE San Diego Chapter and ASHRAE Orange Empire Chapter joint meeting this week! Nothing like working with a lively, engaged audience! We discussed some real-life examples of navigating ethics in a digital landscape. The best way to learn is by having open, respectful, thoughtful discussion and debate. This allows us to hear the perspective of others and consider ideas we hadn't before, allowing us to reshape our own. Our Critical Air Tech Los Angeles and San Diego teams had the opportunity to get together and sponsor last night’s joint ASHRAE Orange Empire Chapter and ASHRAE San Diego Chapter meeting at the Mission Pacific Beach Resort in Oceanside. This month, the ASHRAE San Diego Chapter had not one—but two—recipients of the Take the Bull by the Horns award, and I am incredibly honored to recognize Andrea Hill for this well-deserved accomplishment. Andrea serves as our chapter’s Women in ASHRAE (WiA) Chair, a newly established subcommittee of Membership Promotion (MP). With no past playbook to follow or prior chairs to offer guidance, stepping into this role required someone with vision, initiative, and the ability to pave the way—qualities Andrea has exemplified from day one. This past month, she took initiative by organizing our first-ever WiA networking event, successfully bringing together engineers, owners, contractors, and manufacturers for an evening of connection and collaboration. Beyond that, Andrea represented ASHRAE at the San Diego Council’s Engineers Week, inspiring the next generation by introducing students to the industry and showcasing the many opportunities within engineering.
