The University of South Florida (USF), in collaboration with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), is pleased to announce a series of free work zone training courses. This 1.5-day, in-person training session, to be held in FDOT District 7 Auditorium, will focus on the purpose and procedures for conducting Work Zone Road Safety Audits (WZRSA). Participants will learn the structured process of evaluating current or future work zones through a formal safety performance examination conducted by an independent, multidisciplinary team. This course is ideal for Engineers, Construction Inspectors, and Project Managers interested in enhancing work zone safety and mobility. ASHE Tampa Bay members attended the 2025 Engineers' Week Banquet to network and celebrate with other Engineers in our region. Our chapter proudly presented the ASHE Tampa Bay Engineer of the Year award to Leigh Lilla, who has been a long-time member and contributor of our Tampa Bay chapter. Leigh has served in many Board positions throughout the years, eventually contributing to the National chapter and becoming the ASHE National President in 2022! The ASHE Tampa Bay Young Engineer of the Year award was presented to David D. Lutz, P.E.. Ever since joining our chapter, David has been heavily involved in our activities/events and is currently serving in our Board as a Director for our Tampa Bay chapter. Congratulations to the award winners and see you all next year! ?
