Activating Medical AI for Improved Outcomes
关于我们
It is an incredible time to get into healthcare, with the potential of AI and computational science to address many of the challenges and ills of our global healthcare systems. We're already seeing healthcare systems benefit from the innovations that have made the leap from idea to market adoption. However, there’s a lot of hype in the space. The regulatory systems are complex, and medical device product development has nuances you need to understand to navigate the landscape and make sound strategic decisions along the way. That’s where we come in. After decades helping the world’s largest healthcare organizations and collaborating with leading academic institutions, we’ve set up as a professional service firm applying our know-how in bringing AI to providers. Get our deep technical and scientific knowledge with a generous side of healthcare ecosystem smarts, as we work with your team to guide you in solving your problems. Just don’t expect us to go with the status quo. Our goal is to make a tangible difference to innovators and investors who are pushing the boundaries of improving healthcare with AI. To discuss if we’re the right guides for you, send us an email on: [email protected].

As we look to launch Phase II of our research collaboration in the development of AI models that can aid in the diagnosis of rare respiratory diseases, we will be seeking to expand our partners and are open to additional academic institutions and teaching hospitals to join our project. We are currently working with University of Cambridge, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, Mass General Brigham AI, Brigham and Women's Hospital and Rhino Federated Computing with the support from The Myrovlytis Trust. In the meantime, please consider joining this program for new medical students. Please noted: March 12th, 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. EST. For more information reach out to Charlotte Kalafut.
The Cambridge University Student Respiratory Society and Life Arc are hosting a mini symposium on the 12th?March to discuss rare respiratory diseases including Birt Hogg-Dube. The aim of the conference is to highlight these diseases to medical students, particularly those at Cambridge, UCL, Edinburgh, but also beyond this. Join Zoom Meeting https://lnkd.in/gkPvtd7C... ?? Key Insights from John Kalafut PhD at Talencio’s hosted Health Tech Executive Roundtable on AI in healthcare?? At a recent roundtable, John Kalafut, CEO of Asher Orion Group, shared deep insights on the evolving landscape of AI in healthcare. Some key takeaways: ?? The Shift in AI Development – The era of AI-driven medical innovation has moved beyond traditional supervised learning. Today’s breakthroughs come from semi-supervised and self-supervised models that find patterns in vast datasets, requiring new regulatory and development approaches. ?? Challenges of Robustness & Fairness – AI models in healthcare must navigate real-world complexities, from imaging artifacts to biased training data. Ensuring fairness and robustness means identifying where models may fail and addressing hidden stratifications in datasets. ?? Beyond Pattern Recognition – Medicine isn’t just about recognizing common conditions; it also involves identifying rare cases ("zebras"). AI must evolve from retrospective statistical analysis to true prognostic capabilities, integrating physics-based models and other engineering principles. ?? Next-Generation AI – Current and next-generation AI technologies demonstrate greater adaptability through AI agentic frameworks. While these agents still incorporate Deep Learning and LLM technologies, many challenges to clinical AI adoption persist. Although some implementation complexities increase, these systems offer improved error resilience and produce fewer nonsensical responses. These agentic frameworks, alongside physics and biology-inspired machine learning algorithms, show significant promises for healthcare impact. However, continuous monitoring and performance evaluation remain essential requirements. Kalafut’s insights remind us that while AI is transforming healthcare, ensuring reliability, equity, and interpretability remains paramount. The journey toward truly intelligent medical AI is ongoing—what’s your take? ?? ? #AIinHealthcare #MedTech #MachineLearning #HealthTechInnovation #ArtificialIntelligence Alena Ilyushyna, CFA, CAIA Ayla Annac Bob Williams Brian Thomas Bridget O'Keeffe, PhD Courtland Imel Howison Schroeder Jill Mari Embry Katie Hjelmstad Severt, MBA Larry Diamond Mark Silverberg, MD, DDS ~ CEO ~ HEATJAC Regina Atim, PharmD, MBA, BCMAS, CPHIMS Richard Tharin Scott A Endicott Steve Paul Tess Wong Tomoko Maeda-Chubachi Wendy Charles, PhD Manu Goyal Rachel Gustad

We're thrilled to be supporting the work of this research team. Working with research and clinical experts to solve today's healthcare problems with the right innovation approach.
We just had a recent acceptance for publication in the Science Talks video journal, a 'non-traditional' effort. The TLDR synopsis of the article is to develop a data visualization layer in the #metaverse to improve clinician-patient interactions, all while providing biomechanics-based 'analytics' that aren't readily accessible by clinicians (without asking for a number cruncher). This work was supported by the Center for Medical Innovation (CMI) and excellent work from talented undergraduate researchers in the Vascular Bioengineering Lab: Aakash Kottakota, Christian Hangey, Jason Lee, and PhD candidate Pete Gueldner. Adoption of new technologies takes time, but this is a seed being planted for what is becoming possible with AI Nathan Liang and David Vorp #longhaul.
