Ashby Village

Ashby Village is a non-profit organization that provides community, practical support, and resources for older adults as they age in their chosen homes and neighborhoods. Ashby Village members enjoy help at home, rides and healthcare appointment support, and cultural, social and wellness activities! Our flexible approach and easy scheduling also allows members to tap into our community activities and services as they need them, when they want them. Ashby Village members and most of our volunteers live in Albany, Berkeley, El Cerrito, Emeryville, Kensington, Oakland and Richmond. Together with our small but mighty staff based in Berkeley, we're committed to nurturing an inclusive membership organization and culture that advances access to practical services, support, and social programs for older adults from all backgrounds and economic means. Overview of Services Connection - We host a broad range of social and cultural activities and events each month, including neighborhood potlucks, group hikes, book clubs, wellness classes, happy hours, and arts and sciences speaker events. It’s easy to make new friendships and connect over shared interests within our multi-generational community of members and volunteers. Support - Members are just a phone call away from a host of volunteer services, including rides to doctor appointments, minor household repairs, technology assistance and help with gardening, pet care and light housekeeping. Resources - Members have access to referrals to paid service providers recommended by fellow members, including gardeners, painters, attorneys, accountants and home healthcare services.
