ASFA is the peak policy, research and advocacy body for Australia’s superannuation industry
关于我们
The Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA) is the peak policy, research and advocacy body for Australia’s superannuation (super) industry. Our purpose is to help achieve the best retirement outcomes for members of super funds through the development of good public policy and industry best practice. ASFA has been operating since 1962. ?Not for profit: We re-invest our income back into the industry and community via research and advocacy projects based on the expertise of our experienced policy and Research Centre teams. This includes producing submissions to the government, reports, best practice papers, education for the community and research into key issues affecting superannuation fund members. ?Non-sector aligned: ASFA focuses on whole-of-system issues including superannuation system design, regulatory frameworks, industry operations and governance. We take positions that are in the best interest of fund members, rather than advocating any one sector’s interests over another. ?Non-party political: We advocate for sound, long-term public policy, not politically aligned outcomes. Through our members – which include superannuation funds from the corporate, industry, retail and public sectors, as well as service providers – we represent the whole super industry. ASFA Learning: We are also a registered training organisation and offer continuing professional development (CPD) courses and superannuation education for people at all stages of their career. For more information, see the ASFA Learning webpages: https://www.superannuation.asn.au/learning

?? The afternoon’s information-packed Spotlight on Insurance in Super program continued with a discussion on delivering an integrated digital member experience – with insights and learnings from a transformation journey. Next delegates heard a thought-provoking discussion about what the current political environment and forthcoming election means for insurance and super. This was followed by a discussion session on why insurance companies are incorporating ESG considerations into operations and how by embracing ESG, insurance companies can reduce risks, capitalise on new opportunities, and contribute to a more sustainable future. The final session looked at the role of the trustee starting with an overview of FAR and trustee responsibilities, followed by a panel discussion on the complexities of balancing legislative, governance, and compliance requirements while acting in members' best interests. Delegates enjoyed networking drinks to reflect on a day of many key takeaways. A big thank you to all our partners, speakers and delegates for an insightful and engaging event! ??
