Last week we had the opportunity to participate in the Mt. Zion High School Career/College Fair! ?? We had so many great conversations with students eager to learn more about architecture and design! The highlight? Hearing from the counselor that students left feeling inspired to go to college and pursue a career in our field. ??? It’s moments like these that remind us why we love what we do!??#InspiringtheFuture?#Architecture?#Design?#CareerFair

Another view of the incredible transformation of Bayshore Gardens!
As one walks through the many parts of our cities, engaging with our urban environment can at times feel raw, and quite physically overwhelming…The desire to feel the connection between the self, and the city as a whole, can in one way be related to our human need for contact…perhaps even the human need to feel like one belongs within our reality. With many of our buildings acting at times as physical ‘barrier-buildings’ - intruding in our inherit free will to explore our surrounding space; buttresses that break into the natural patterns of the wayfarer; or even a whole city block with no real city interaction…it’s easy to feel a decline in community; a decline in the social; a decline in connections. As our Bayshore Gardens project progresses, one of our transformations of what might have been seen as a ‘barrier-building’ has now opened itself up to engage with the city it has lived in for decades. Seen in the video, the South Facade of our 2907 building breaks open its walls, and sets the tables - so to speak - with food; with drink; with warm welcomes. As Architects; as Designers; as Builders; as Developers; as elected City Leaders; let’s continue to encourage the re-birth of our existing buildings, and by so doing, bring a new chapter to the life of our growing cities. And if you haven’t had a chance yet - Barcelona Wine Bar has opened its doors last Thursday - Bon Appétit. - ASD | SKY Asana Partners Tidal Construction Group City of Tampa #architecture #urbandesign #placemaking #sustainability -

Exciting progress on our Bayshore Gardens project in Tampa, FL! #AdaptiveReuse #Tampa #Architecture #Transformation
When looking at adaptive reuse, the future pathways of our urban spaces must not only embrace and incorporate the coming of advanced new materials; the ever changing landscapes of technology; the growing needs and wants of our social fabrics - to name just a few…it must also honor and look for its evolution and wayfinding of new design and new built environments from what is currently existing before us. Many existing buildings are worth the redevelopment…it is always worth saving the history of a place, while also reintroducing the building to a new chapter of its life - both economically and socially. This video captures the partial evolution of our Bayshore Gardens project, which encompasses the adaptive reuse of two existing office buildings, making up more than 93,000 square feet of rentable space. Seen here, the East Facade of one of the two buildings undergoes its transformation…the ground floor has been repurposed to directly engage the surrounding neighborhood, offering a new use of restaurant, with an exterior patio/garden and canopy system - inviting the once closed off building to ‘open’ itself for exploration and interaction with its community. Much more to come… - ASD | SKY Asana Partners Tidal Construction Group City of Tampa #sustainability #placemaking #architecture #urbandesign -

?? SHOW STOPPER ?? ? Last Wednesday, our DC office participated in the 2024 IIDA Cosmo Couture event, winning the Showstopper Award - ‘exceptionally inspiring or moving, wild card, evokes a whole mood’. Playing off this year’s theme, ‘Out of this World’, ASD|SKY partnered with?Diode led and District Lighting Group?to create a design composed of wire, tapelight, and LED panels. ? INFINITE LUMINOSITY? // Out of the darkness emerges a continuous light weaving through the universe. Through the use of weaving techniques, channels for structure and light components, our design represents the importance of light in the darkness. With minimal use of color, the light is able to tell its own story and leave an infinite impression.
