Carin Zissis, editor-in-chief of AS/COA Online, was interviewed by Brent Goff of Deutsche Welle about Mexico's President Claudia Sheinbaum's negotiating skills with Donald Trump, her rising approval rating, U.S.-Mexico trade relations, and the debate around the imposition of tariffs by the U.S. government. Elected by acclamation on March 10, Suriname Foreign Minister Albert Ramdin will become the first Caribbean national to serve as secretary general of the Organization of American States. The secretary general-elect enters the role with promises of bridging political and sub-regional differences to reinforce cooperation on key hemispheric issues such as migration, transnational organized crime, and climate change.
