Founders Rick Smith and David Hollingsworth reinvented and rebuilt Ascentron from an Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) company that was a casualty of the high tech industry crash of 2001. Success depended on a strategic shift away from high volume computer, automotive, and gaming electronics to a focus on customers that needed outstanding quality and service for low-to-medium volume projects.
