DC Fire and EMS Department recently launched a pilot program using biometric monitoring wearables with de-identified data, in partnership with Ascent Integrated Tech. The initial phase focuses on leveraging biometric and sleep data to assess recruit readiness over time. Key questions we look to answer are: How often are firefighters wearing the wearables? How can data be presented to provide value for both training and recruits? How can data remain deidentified? Major shoutout to DC Deputy Chief Shawn Downs for leading the implementation of this pilot. Key organizations like the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) Tech Council Wearable Subcommittee play a crucial role in driving innovation, advancing the adoption of wearables, biometrics, and cutting-edge technology across the fire service industry. It was a defense contract with the Air Force that he signed before he was old enough to legally buy a beer ??. So, to our young and student entrepreneurs, remember that: 1. Another great product deployment with the North Park Fire Department! Incredibly grateful to Chief Joel Hallstrom, CFO and the entire North Park team for leading the way. North Park Fire Department serves 15 square miles in Winnebago County, Illinois. They operate with a team of approximately 50 personnel, including full-time, part-time, and volunteer firefighters across three fire stations. With this successful deployment in North Park, our technology is now utilized by eight departments, including Lincoln, Charleston, Effingham, Mattoon, Des Plaines, Waukesha, and a pilot deployment with DC Fire Department. Today, we honor the civilians and first responders who lost their lives on 9/11. We are grateful for their bravery and for the dedication of today's first responders.
