Ascent Healthcare is committing to help practitioners and facilities navigate the most recent CMS guidelines for surveyors.? By utilizing education and outreach we aim to partner together to integrate the new guidelines in our care of residents.? We are working hard on the areas of? careful psychotropic prescribing,? reduction of unnecessary medications and optimal engagement in discharge planning. ? We are excited to announce that Dr. Sarah Dunham is taking on the role of Chief Medical Officer for Ascent Healthcare. Dr. Dunham is originally from the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. She attended The University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville. She moved west for Internal Medicine residency OHSU for 3 years followed by one?chief?residency year. She spent the first decade of medical practice as a Hospitalist within the Providence system. Dr. Dunham joined Ascent Healthcare in 2018 as an Attending Physician and became a Certified Medical Director in Post Acute and Long Term Care in 2021. She is now serving as Medical Director at several facilities and serving as?CMO?for Ascent Healthcare. Dr. Dunham lives in Portland and enjoys spending time with her husband Jeff, two daughters, 2 stepchildren and their dog Milo. Ascent Healthcare had a great time celebrating our amazing team and spreading some holiday cheer. We had fun in Southern Oregon celebrating at River's Edge (Amy didn't get a ??picture!) and we celebrated at Cornell Farms in Portland with many of our Portland area team. Everyone was able to plant a succulent to take home and enjoyed great food and socializing.
