Ascendent is proud to welcome Bill Craig as its new Project Manager and Estimator! We sat down with Bill to learn a little more about him. ???????? ???????? ?????? ?????????? ?? ?????? ?????? ???? ???????????? ???? ?????????????????? - ?????? ?????? ?????????????????? ???? ????????? I previously worked at Northwest Metals which focused on mechanical demolition - dismantling equipment like boilers, hydros, power plants, etc. Things like boilers, chillers, and HVAC systems are considered specialty equipment which need specific knowledge and equipment to take down. ?????? ???????? ???????????????????? ?????? ?????????? ???????????????????? ???????????? ???????? ?????? ?????????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ???? ??????? With mechanical demolition, the facilities remain when we’re done - it’s not a full demolition. We dismantle the old equipment in sizable pieces that are easy to remove, leaving the structure in place for its next use. ?????? ?????????? ?????? ???????????????? ???????? ?????? ???????? ???? ??????????????????? ???????? ???????? ?? ?????????????? ?????? ???????? ???????? ?????? ??????? My day-to-day will be similar to before: Looking at bids, compiling estimates, looking at the full scope of the project. After that will be setup, monitoring the project, and sending information to Project Managers. Really, I will be following the projects from start to finish. ???????? ???? ???????? ???????????????????? ???? ????????? I was at Northwest Metals for 24 years - I started there right out of high school and worked my way up. ?????? ?????? ?????? ???????????? ?? ???????????? ???? ????????????????????/?????????? ????????????????????? I graduated from high school a year early and didn’t think traditional college would be a good fit. I played hockey with someone who worked at Northwest Metals and they offered me a job. I actually didn’t know what the position was - I showed up the first day in a collared shirt and slacks to a scrapyard and they sent me home to change. It’s a funny memory to look back on! ???????? ???? ?????? ???????? ?????????????? ???? ???????? ???? ???????? ?????? ????????? Northwest Metals was a smaller company than Ascendent. Previously, I was the primary Project Manager and Estimator. It will be great to work for a bigger company and learn how they operate and work together. As other companies go down, Ascendent is still growing and thriving. I hope to contribute to that success moving forward. ???????? ???? ?????? ?????? ???????? ???????? ??????'???? ?????????????? ?????????????? - ???????????? ???????????????????? ???? ????????????????????????????? The success and safety of my crew and their families is a top priority. From there, my goal is to continue increasing my annual sales and maintain profitability. I’d love to expand Ascendent’s portfolio with successful jobs and bids - overall learning new crafts that I haven’t experienced before. Expanding my knowledge, moving forward, and learning new stuff!
