This week, the ASCE-EWRI Dallas Branch had the honor of attending a joint ASCE Dallas Branch meeting with Society of American Military Engineers - Dallas Post to commemorate Veterans Day. We were privileged to hear from Jerry Cotter, P.E., Program Director at the Water Engineering & Research Center, The University of Texas at Arlington. Jerry delivered an insightful keynote on "Flood Risk & Resiliency in the State of Texas," emphasizing the importance of preparedness and adaptive strategies to safeguard our communities. It was a great honor to present at the ASCE Dallas Branch November meeting, especially as part of a joint session with the Society of American Military Engineers - Dallas Post on Veterans Day. As an engineer, this was the most meaningful way for me to observe and celebrate the day. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all veterans for their service.
