In partnership with Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals (APBP) Southern California, OC YMF ASCE hosted a bike tour of the Evolution of Bike Infrastructure in Downtown Long Beach! ?? Planners, engineers, and students gathered to learn more about the past, present, and future of the bike infrastructure in the City on Wednesday, November 13th, 2024. ? A huge thank you to the City of Long Beach Department of Public Works Traffic Engineer Paul Van Dyk and Transportation Planner Ricardo Light for hosting our group for an insightful experience into the design and impact of the City's bike infrastructure projects! On Wednesday, October 30th, OC YMF ASCE hosted their first JEDI Literacy Session with the topic “The Role of Social Equity in Infrastructure.” It featured four infrastructure leaders in the Planning, Civil, Traffic, and Construction sectors from across multiple agencies and firms. ??? On behalf of the ASCE OC YMF JEDI Committee, thank you so much to our industry panelists Isamar E., Rafael Cobian, Reuben Tolentino, and Tina Hanson, for sharing their experiences and providing insightful discussions about this very important topic! Meet Our Panelist - Reuben Tolentino, CCM, DBIA (Psomas) Reuben Tolentino is the Corporate Director of Construction Management and Board Director at Psomas. Having successfully managed hundreds of Public Works Capital Improvement Projects throughout his career, Reuben brings nearly 20 years of professional experience in construction project management. Reuben holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Cal Poly Pomona and is a Certified Construction Manager and a Designated Design Build Professional.?Prior to joining Psomas, Reuben served as Capital Projects Coordinator for the City of Long Beach Public Works Department. While serving in this role, Reuben managed nearly $200M of construction improvements for public safety buildings, park facilities, city hall renovations, libraries, and health department facilities.
