Meet Becky Breeden, member of the ASAE Technology Professionals Advisory Council!
Becky began her association career in 1993 and had the good fortune of becoming part of a forward-thinking business services association on the brink of technological advancement. As a younger member of the staff and one of the few with substantive experience in computing, Becky was recruited to participate as one of several key staff members shepherding the organization through these changes, which ultimately included a shift to networked computers, Windows operating systems, relational databases, email, the internet, and online commerce. For the next seven years, Becky and her teammates became increasingly immersed in what would become Becky’s life-long passion and career – advancing associations through technology.
Becky joined her first vendor partner in 1999 when she moved to the D.C. area and had the opportunity to become part of what was then the Greater Washington Society of Association Executives led by Reggie Henry. It was with this introduction that Becky immersed herself in the community that she now feels is home.
Becky is the CEO of Brightfind/Ready North; an integrated company bringing the best in marketing expertise and digital experience together under the Blue Cypress family of companies. In her role at Brightfind Becky has the privilege of inspiring passion among her team for the association community and the advancement of mission-driven organizations through technological growth. Becky guides customer relationships, company strategy, training of team members, and growth in partnerships and processes. Becky will step into a fractional role starting in November as she assists Brightfind and Blue Cypress in restructuring Brightfind for future growth.
Becky’s career includes more than 13 years as a strategy and technology consultant with Ellipsis Partners; one of the industry’s foremost advisors. During her tenure at Ellipsis Partners, Becky and her partner, Moira, designed methodologies to advise clients on their most impactful technology decisions. In addition, Becky had the opportunity to work closely with other leaders in the industry to elevate the role of women in technology and to normalize a “place at the table” for women with technical acumen. It is one of Becky’s most valued experiences to have been present and part of the growth of important female voices in technology teams.
Becky is proud to be part of the Technology Professionals Advisory Council; a group she has revered for many years. She looks forward to great things in 2024.
