This striking piece of art pays homage to a young Martin Luther King, Jr., capturing the essence of a visionary before his time, reminding us that even the most transformative leaders started as dreamers, full of potential and promise. "The Young Dreamer" is not a direct depiction of Dr. King, but its inspiration is unmistakable—this sculpture speaks to the timeless nature of his ideals and the vibrancy of today’s youth. This unveiling was not just a celebration of history, but also a beacon of hope for the future as we launched the Urban League Leadership Giving Society to support the mission of the League to end generational poverty through advocacy and by empowering individuals to establish careers, become entrepreneurs, build wealth, and develop as leaders. A national design competition is underway to create a public art installation in the Covington Central Riverfront neighborhood, a 23-acre district aimed at reconnecting the city to its waterfront and surrounding communities. Partnering with the City of Covington, Kentucky on the project are The Carnegie, The Center for Great Neighborhoods, ArtsWave and the Carol Ann & Ralph V. Haile, Jr. Foundation.
