Attention Indie Artists! In today’s industry, getting the attention of gatekeepers requires having the right branding, a compelling story, and strategic positioning. There are do’s and don’ts when it comes to pitching yourself and we're going to help you cut through that noise. Art Start is thrilled to partner with Sungate Records for an immersive panel and workshop designed to equip emerging artists with the foundational tools to navigate the music industry. This session will dive into brand-building, bio-writing, EPK creation, and pitching strategies - essential skills for artists looking to establish themselves. Following the panel, participants will break out into a hands-on workshop, where they’ll craft their own EPKs and set up monetization platforms. Art Start Emerging Artists and Interns recently attended a full tour of University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's Peck School of the Arts led by local artist and long-time faculty member, Kathryn Martin Meurer, and supported by our very own UW-M ArtsECO intern. Participants were able to discuss questions about college life, what they wanted to get out of the tour, and some were even offered opportunities to connect with other faculty members more directly related to their creative interests.
