Learning in the arts is comprehensive in the true sense of the word. Integration of the arts is a critical component of the school curriculum affords students a complete and well rounded education. The benefits associated with study of the arts are inclusive of all students, although they can be greatest for those who are educationally or economically disadvantaged. And, an arts-rich learning environment can have far-reaching effects that extend to the entire school and surrounding community. Arts for Learning NW invites you to celebrate the impact of arts education in Oregon and SW Washington. Join us at our Impact Bruncheon fund raising event on Saturday, February 15 at the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts. 关于我们
Kids need the arts in their lives to reach their full potential. For nearly 60 years, Arts for Learning Northwest has been committed to meeting that need in our region. Arts for Learning Northwest is dedicated to inspiring young people with meaningful, high-quality arts experiences. We serve more than 72,000 students in Oregon & SW Washington each and every year. The cornerstone of our organization is our carefully curated roster of more than 70 top-tier professional teaching artists who deliver engaging, educationally aligned performances, classroom residencies, and workshops in a wide variety of artistic mediums. We consistently engage with teaching artists to improve their teaching skills and we work collaboratively with classroom teachers to help them incorporate the arts into their teaching practice. In short, we bring artists and teachers together to better serve students. And we make it fun.

Broadband & Digital Technologies Adoption Coordinator, creative bilingual technologist, AI, workforce development, digital equity, STEAM educator, teaching artist. FUN FACT: aka DroneSinger – the "Weird Al of Drones."
Many of you know of my love for technology and education, but I also have a passion for The Arts and Art education. In addition to my day job, I am also a multi-instrumentalist, bilingual singer/songwriter, music composer, puppeteer and a teaching artist. One of the projects I had the privilege of working on this year has been to create a couple of online teaching modules for the Oregon Department of Education Arts Care and Connection project. The overall project involved 70 individual artists in Oregon who developed learning modules to teach social emotional skills via The Arts. The modules are free and available as Open Educational Resources on the Oregon Open Learning website for K-5 educators and students. There are currently 16 modules available, with more to come soon, in both English and Spanish. Thank you to Briana Linden, Subashini Ganesan, Kristi Riedel and everyone at Arts Learning Northwest for working with me and all the other Oregon teaching artists involved in this project to bring these great educational resources for teachers and students across the state! #artseducation #musiceducation #art #sel #education #oregon

MVM + AFLNW = ?? In 2017 MVM founder Ian Mouser had a vision of turning 8911 SE Stark into a community hub where young people could come together to create and build relationships. In 2023, the doors were finally opened, and this year we take a giant step toward that vision by welcoming our new building mates and long-time friends/partners in creative youth development, Arts for Learning NW (formerly Young Audiences) to share space, ideas, and possible collaborations in our new building. Welcome to the building, roomies!
