March is Arts in Our Schools Month! Today we're celebrating the artistic talent at Union City High School where students are learning about the importance of balance in both art and life. This striking neon mandala was created by 9th grade student J. Del Cid as part of the Art 1 curriculum. Her full attention to detail is evident in this intricate mixed-media piece that demonstrates both technical skill and creative vision. Art education provides students with essential opportunities for self-expression and develops critical thinking skills that extend far beyond the art classroom. Follow along all month as we showcase more amazing student artwork from our district! @ucschools @uceaglearts #ArtsEdNJ

That travels through our whole body. It helps our digestion, our respiratory functions, our stress levels, our hormones.” The Well Music & Arts Director Bryce Kessler said. Kessler said the program helps build on skills like self-awareness and self-management while also introducing students to a broad range of sounds. “We also make sure there's a wide variety of genres. So orchestral, jazz, and new world music. We commission one to two pieces by local artists every year,” Kessler said.” #ArtsEdNJ #MusicandMentalHealth
