The focus will be on the crucial steps needed to reopen your business once water is restored. This session will provide essential guidance on how to ensure your business is ready to welcome customers back, and what to do if you're still facing challenges with water access. Calling all WNC Artists Substantially Impacted by Hurricane Helene! You can now apply for a $500 grant which may be used in any way towards your recovery efforts. Applicants must: - currently reside in one of the 25 WNC counties impacted by Helene; - be 18 years of age or older; - be activity working in one of the following artistic fields: craft, literary, media, performing, visual, and interdisciplinary arts; and - have been substantially impacted by Hurricane Helene. ArtsAVL Executive Director Katie Cornell and Development & Grants Director Rebecca Lynch, along with North Carolina Arts Council Executive Director Jeff Bell, are in Chicago this week for the Grantmakers in the Arts conference. The GIA community has embraced us, offering resources and guidance that are much needed for the long road ahead. We are forever grateful to Americans for the Arts, National Endowment for the Arts, National Assembly of State Arts Agencies, and Grantmakers in the Arts for your support at this extremely difficult time.

If history shows us anything… the artists of Asheville breathe life into our community. ? In the 80s, artists revitalized downtown Asheville from a rundown city to one of the top 3 cities to visit in North Carolina. ? Artists revitalized our community post-pandemic. 2022 sales totals in the creative industry surpassed 2019 totals by 31.25%. ?
