Join ART at NACW 2025 TOMORROW! Jurisdictional REDD+ (JREDD+) has enormous potential to deliver high-integrity climate impact at scale. But realizing that potential requires thoughtful planning and implementation. Don’t miss our workshop tomorrow at 9am Pacific Time, where ART and partners will share practical lessons learned from the 25 jurisdictions participating in ART. The workshop will be led by our very own Mary Grady and Christina Magerkurth alongside Juan Carlos Castro Vargas, Minister of Environment of Peru, Fermín Chimatani Tayori of ANECAP, Jessica Orrego from Mercuria, and Janice McMahon from Aster Global Environmental Solutions, with framing video remarks from ROSELYN FOSUAH ADJEI of the Ghana Forestry Commission and Pradeepa Bholanath of Guyana's Ministry of Natural Resources. #NACW2025 #ClimateAction #REDDplus #Sustainability #JREDD #CarbonMarkets #ART More information here>>> https://lnkd.in/gYwuZvSp

Attracting New Investment to Protect and Restore Forests
The Architecture for REDD+ Transactions (ART) is a global initiative that seeks to incentivize governments to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD), as well as restore forests and protect intact forests (+). ART provides a credible standard and rigorous process to transparently register, verify, and issue REDD+ emission reduction and removal credits that ensure environmental and social integrity. This page posts in English, Spanish, Portuguese and French.

Forests are one of our most powerful climate solutions. At ART, our work seeks to help protect and restore forests at scale—certifying high-integrity, jurisdictional REDD+ credits that unlock finance for ambitious climate action. On this day, we celebrate the vital role forests play in safeguarding our planet and reaffirm our commitment to working closely with stakeholders in the 25 jurisdictions participating in ART - which have a combined total of 435 million hectares of forest cover, an area more than twice the size of Mexico - to continue to build on the growing momentum for JREDD+. Indigenous leadership is essential to achieving real and lasting climate results. We are inspired to see the progress and determination of Indigenous organizations like?ANECAP?and?Grupo Perú de PPII, who are shaping the future of?#jurisdictionalREDD+?in the Amazon. At?ART, we are committed to ensuring that?Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs)?are central to REDD+ efforts, including through the the certification of?co-benefits?and the recognition of the critical role of?HFLD (High Forest, Low Deforestation)?territories. The conversations?held in Colombia, in collaboration with?JUVENTUDES OPIAC?are a powerful reminder that?Indigenous governance and access to climate finance through carbon markets?are essential pillars for success in the fight against deforestation. We are proud to stand alongside partners working to ensure that climate solutions are?inclusive, equitable, and led by those who have protected forests for generations. Check out ANECAP’s post to learn more about this important exchange! #IndigenousLeadership #JurisdictionalREDD #HFLD?#Amazon
#GRUPOPERUDEPPII ?? ?Uniendo fuerzas por la Amazonía! ?? In February 2024, Guyana’s 2021 TREES Credits became the world’s first credits eligible for use by airlines toward their targets in the 2024-2026 phase of the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) global emission reduction program, CORSIA. In a recent article for Newsweek, Ghanaian community leaders Nallice Afrakoma, Daniel Amponsah and Divine Odonkor highlight how national deforestation reduction programs like jurisdictional REDD+ are crucial in reversing forest loss while directing funding toward sustainable development. Specifically, they emphasize how JREDD+ has been a game-changer for Ghana’s cocoa industry, driving both environmental and economic benefits.
