We thought it was fitting to share our work with Zaq Landsberg’s “Reclining Liberty” today. After the outdoor exhibition Morningside Park in Manhattan, it was brought to our Artmax facility to have the patina clear-coated. It was then delivered to @mocaarlington on a 28-foot flatbed truck. “Reclining Liberty takes inspiration from the giant reclining Buddha statues of Asia, which represent the Buddha in one stage on the path to enlightenment and are a theme throughout Buddhist art. Artmax had an exciting couple of days installing the new and timely exhibition Change by @ralfgrabner at Andrew Logan Projects Gallery. Our qualified art handlers picked up the fragile 6’ x 6’ aluminum mounted photographic prints from Ralf’s Brooklyn studio and transported them in our 26 ft box truck with a 2-ton liftgate. We then worked to mount the pieces on brick and plaster walls with custom cleats. You can view the exhibition through November 25th. We want to congratulate artist Tanda Francis on RockIt Black’s acceptance in the Arsenale Nord of Venice exhibition, which will be on display from November 16 to December 8, 2024. We wanted to share some photos from the installation process we facilitated for Ian L.C. Swordy's show "Direct Carving NYC." @entrance.nyc This is the groundbreaking show of their new outdoor space. We used a Fassi 330 SE crane to lift 5,000-lb marble carvings into place. Today, we visited Australian collaborative artists Gillie and Marc’s ‘Wildlife Wonders’ in situ at the World Trade Center South Oculus Plaza. The sculptures weigh 18,000 pounds and are about 15 feet tall. It was beautiful to see the interaction, joy, and education their art brings! The iconic Pussycat Club sign is on the move! It was up in Times Square during the 1960s and 1970s. When the building was being demolished, American film director John Fortenberry rescued the sign and kept it in his Tribeca loft for 40 years! We used a specifically engineered scale box and a knuckle boom to safely remove the sign through the loft’s window. It was then attained by @andrew_logan_projects and show in his Brooklyn gallery. It has now found a new home in a bank gallery @_darkmatterdesign_ in Scranton, Pennsylvania. We will be covering that move soon, so stay tuned! Last week, we told you about our plans to move a custom French steel table out of this Columbia Heights apartment through the retaining wall. Now, watch our team do just that! First, we wrapped the table with fiber cloth, bubble wrap, and blankets. Then we rigged the table with 20 ft endless round slings and chain fall using a 120 metric ton mobile crane with 198 feet of boom to hoist the table safely to the ground.
