AFH 3D design studio teens Rog Macias and Juan Aguilar had the opportunity to ??craft?? some cocktail themed fashion in collaboration with Gensler, Bernhardt Design, Environments at Work/AT WORK COLLABORATIVE?, Haworth, the IIDA New England Fashion Show team, and AFH mentors Jay Cadwallader and Dan White! Utilizing fabric and materials from Haworth and Bernhardt, AFH teens, mentors, and our partners repurposed drapery, plastic, knit fabric, foam, and belting leather to create personifications of Mule and Bees Knees cocktails. Swipe through to see these haute couture designs on the runways as well as the original sketches! This was such a special collaboration and we’re so grateful to have been a part of the 26th Annual IIDA NE Fashion Show. Special thanks to models Caroline Dow and Michael Thomas. #artistsforhumanity #iidafashionshow #runway #creativetransformation #repurposedmaterial

AFH, CityLab and MassArt are forging pathways! CityLab and AFH launched a Design and Visual Communications College Pathway with Massachusetts College of Art and Design, which is providing college credit, workforce development, and the opportunity for employment in art and design to a cohort of CityLab juniors and seniors. This past Tuesday, CityLab students took a trip to MassArt to begin their unit on Photography, exploring MassArt's Foundation wing in South Hall, and gaining access to the Studio Foundation Cage where they can access DSLR cameras and other digital equipment. This is the 6th college pathway that CityLab has launched and it is ALSO the first MassArts dual enrollment partnership through AFH Co-Lab. In addition to being a Teaching Assistant for MassArt Professor Kyle Browne, AFH's Foundation Director Dominique Litif-Nelson is also offering office hours to our 9 pathforging CityLab students. “I aim to show people that our world is full of amazing things, whether natural or man-made.”–Katherine Rivera, AFH Alum Katherine Rivera’s goal as a photographer is to transmit awareness of the world’s beauty. Through her artwork, Katherine wishes to connect people to nature and teach them to appreciate what they would otherwise ignore. Pop over to the link below to learn what Katherine considers to be a PERFECT day in Boston! Every month, we collaborate with?Prudential Center?to feature a new AFH teen artist. November’s featured teen artist is Katherine! Works such as “Untitled” (image 1 and 2) and “Flush” (image 3 and 4) will be displayed on digital kiosks all around?Prudential?Center. This is an amazing way to give our teen artists a voice and an opportunity to be a part of the public art scene! https://lnkd.in/eppT-u9k #artistsforhumanity #prudentialboston #publicart #connectwithnature #teenartists

Operations Coordinator | Facilities and HR experience | Passionate about nonprofits supporting under represented communities
Honored to have hosted one of MASSCreative’s community conversations at Artists For Humanity . There was a lot of great information shared by Emily Ruddock and a lot of great conversation in the wake of election results. I am glad to be a part of a strong and united creative sector here in Boston!

It’s always a highlight to be part of Boston Magazine's annual events, and this year was no exception! We had an amazing time at the Taste Event last week, celebrating with some of Boston’s best chefs and restaurants at the Artists For Humanity EpiCenter. ??
We had a wonderful time attending and sponsoring the annual Boston Magazine Taste Event presented by Porsche AG last week surrounded by some of the best chefs and restaurants in #Boston for an unforgettable evening of food, drinks, and excitement. ?? Guests were treated to a wide variety of mouthwatering dishes paired with exquisite wines, craft beers, and custom cocktails, all while getting an exclusive first look at Boston Magazine’s highly-anticipated November "Best Restaurants" issue at the Artists For Humanity EpiCenter. We were proud to participate in the celebration, serving our signature Shrimp Ceviche and the unique "Pear-ade Route" Barrel-Aged Cocktail. (Fun fact: This cocktail was barreled on the same day the Boston Celtics clinched the NBA Championship this year!) Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table, supported the event, discovered new culinary gems, and celebrated Boston's vibrant food scene. Until next year! #BestofBoston #BestRestaruants #BostonEats #TasteBoston

Last week, The Asian Community Fund at the Boston Foundation announced the formalization of the AAPI Arts and Culture Collaborative, an initiative anchored by ACF and led in partnership with a steering committee of 13 prominent Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) arts and culture leaders from across Massachusetts, including our Executive Director, Anna Yu! “The creation of the Collaborative is groundbreaking since it's never happened before in Massachusetts. AAPI communities are incredibly diverse and are a significant part of the state's population, growing rapidly. I'm particularly interested in the Narrative Change subcommittee, where I serve as a co-chair, because often AAPI stories are steeped in trauma and should, instead, celebrate our community for its joy, depth and breadth. This is not just an opportunity to elevate voices to the general public, but also for us to come together as a community.”— Anna Yu, AFH Executive Director Artists For Humanity is excited to see the Collaborative uplift and support Asian American and Pacific Islanders within our community. We cannot emphasize enough how thrilled we are that our Executive Director is a leading figure within the AAPI Arts and Culture Collaborative. Thank you and congratulations! The Asian Community Fund and the Collaborative, in partnership with the City of Boston, the Barr Foundation, and Mass Cultural Council, will host the 2nd Annual AAPI Arts & Culture Summit on Friday, November 15th, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute. We could not have been more excited and proud to see Artists For Humanity and Find Your Light Foundation collaboration come full circle at the Find Your Light Benefit Concert for Arts Education this week at the Jazz at Lincoln Center! AFH’s NYC studio brought their creative talent and collaborative energy to the design and fabrication of FYL’s two prestigious awards—each 7”x12” in size, made of layers of birch wood, and hand painted by teen artists. The ‘Find Your Light Award’ is given annually to an exceptional artist whose work expanded their art form and is outspoken in their advocacy toward expanding access to Arts Education, and the ‘Arts for Healing Award’ that recognizes a national leader who champions the connection between arts education and health and well-being—raising public awareness about the benefits of engaging with the arts from an early age. AFH’s NYC Teen Artist Gizella Harte designed and hand painted the flame on the ‘Find Your Light Award.’ AFH Teen Artist Shania Harris developed the lotus flower concept, noting it as a symbol of healing and strength, with AFH Teen Artist Ava Jairam hand painting the flowers for the ‘Arts for Healing Award.’ We are proud of AFH NYC teens making a mark in the world, while contributing to the future of young people and the creative economy. It was both a project and a night to remember!
