Atlanta is gearing up to welcome the world as a 2026 World Cup host city, and I’m bringing its energy to life with massive boots, and soaring footballs—this time, interacting with one of the city’s most iconic landmarks: the Coca-Cola Museum! Successful Monday Night Futbol! Happy to share photos of the first Monday Night Futbol at Casa Pink where over 30 guests enjoyed the film Maracana by Uruguayan Sebastian Bednark & Andres Varela. The film relives the incredible story of an Uruguayan team being the underdog at the 1950 World Cup final and making football history in front of 200,000 fans at Maracana stadium. This wonderful story is carefully put together with great footage from the 1950 Brazil World Cup and context from that time in Brazil and Uruguay. Monday Night Futbol is part of the initiative The Ball is Rising Through Culture, which is in part funded by @Houston Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs and Houston Arts Alliance Special thanks to Glenn Davis for coming up with this great idea and our supporters of the event TEAM HOUSTON & Asosiacion Uruguaya en Houston .
