ADR Receives Significant Backing from RCF I'm thrilled to announce that Australian Droid and Robot (ADR) has received significant backing from Resource Capital Funds, a leading mining investment firm. This is a major milestone for our team, as it will enable us to scale up ADR and accelerate the development of our Explora System. The Explora System will help keep people safe at global mining operations and help to meet Zero Entry and Zero Harm targets whilst also increasing time available for production. I'm excited to work with RCF, and particularly with Lyle Bruce, who will be providing us with valuable strategic support. Lyle has a wealth of experience in the mining industry, and he is passionate about using technology to improve safety and productivity. RCF joins our current investors Artesian (Alternative Investments), UNSW, University of Adelaide, Banksia and Ivan Power to propel ADR forward. The SMEC AI team loved the enthusiasm and energy, particularly from Luigi Barone who spoke about how Daitum is helping local SMEs with AI optimisation. A number of iAccelerate resident companies featured as finalists at the recent InnovationAus.com 2024 Awards for Excellence. ?? The awards celebrate the translation of Australian ideas and research into commercial success and social impact across a wide range of categories. ?? myLot, a generative AI assistant, built to simplify planning approvals for applicants and councils, won the GovtTech Project, Product or Service Award and was also a finalist in the AI Industry Pioneer category. ?? Verbotics, which makes smart software to automatically program industrial robots, was a finalist in both the Manufacturing Innovation Award and the Translation Hero Award categories. ?? Green Gravity was a finalist in the Energy and Renewables Award category. Green Gravity uses disused mines to store energy, allowing renewable energy to be used when it is needed. #ThisIsUOW

Australia’s investment in agricultural research and development reached almost $3 billion in 2023-24 ??. That's according to the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics and Sciences (ABARES). ABARES Executive Director, Dr Jared Greenville, said ABARES’s latest data found total agricultural R&D funding was increasing steadily, largely from the private sector. “Agricultural R&D investment is what underpins innovation in the sector, and the flow-on benefits for farmers are considerable,” Dr Greenville said. “We know that every $1 invested in agricultural R&D, generates an almost $8 return for farmers over 10 years, which is a great incentive for the private sector to make these important investments.” Dr Greenville said the strength of Australia’s agricultural R&D system was underpinned by the rural Research and Development Corporations (RDCs). “The RDCs are a unique investment partnership between industry and government, and their funding has grown steadily over the years as productivity has increased,” Dr Greenville said. “Each RDC delivers tangible, practical improvements for their industries, particularly in terms of productivity and sustainability.” Read the ABARES report: https://bit.ly/4exaHna #AgResearch #RDCs #ResearchandDevelopment #Agriculture
