The application for our Visiting Artist of Color residency is open through January 15. This fully funded residency invites artist of color from all over (local artists welcome too!) to spend time at ASLD deepening their practice and connecting with community.

Mary is a student and studio monitor at ASLD. She shared, "I’ve struggled with chronic health issues for almost 9 years, and along with that came panic disorder and OCD. Coming to class and putting my hands in clay grounds me; it allows me to be free of racing thoughts and focus on the here and now, shaping this lump of clay into something I can look at and be proud of." At ASLD, we're changing lives through art - one pot and one painting at a time. Throughout the past year, we've distributed over $80,000 in scholarships, offered free workshops to more than 3,000 art lovers in community centers across the metro area, and created opportunities for more than 300 local artists to make a living in the arts.
