Two months ago, we interviewed Kevin Nolan, the man behind Nolan Transportation Group (NTG) & OTR Solutions. Now he spends a lot of his time investing in the latest freight tech via his firm Sope Creek Capital & is also building Marquee Insurance Group (MIG). During the interview, he told us he’s been visiting Chicago more often these days to meet with trucking companies. He brought up that on his recent trip he went to the Sky Spa & Sauna in Buffalo Grove, IL. Having spent many times at Sky - I was surprisingly shocked that Kevin also goes there. For those that haven’t heard of Sky, it’s a sauna in where many Eastern European & Central Asian truck drivers go to relax. When I heard that, I told Kevin he needs to fly in August when I’m in town so we can all go to the sauna and visit some trucking companies. I said it as a joke, thinking there was no way he would actually do it. Fast forward two months and here we are hanging out with Kevin Nolan at the new Arrow Trans Corp HQ in Villa Park, IL with their owner Piotr Klich. Arrow and I go far back. I used to work with them often when I was a freight broker working at Everest Transportation Systems, LLC. Arrow is known in Poland because they have a TV show where a Polish truck driver drives around the U.S. on the Discovery channel (it’s actually the way I sourced them). Andrew Silver also joined us as him and Kevin are good friends. It’s something we talked about on the podcast we recorded with them on Friday. After spending time with Piotr at his HQ, we went to the Chicago Sweatlodge to hang out the Eastern European way. The day was amazing to say the least. Our podcast with Kevin & Andrew will be out in a couple of weeks. Thank you Kevin for flying in for a few hours to Chicago. Also, a big thank you to Piotr for hosting us at his new HQ and Andrew for coming to hang out with us.
