It has been a busy and exciting fall event season for ARRO so far! We've had a lot of fun getting out and about, connecting with communities and industry peers. Check out a few recent highlights: - Taneytown Harvest Festival: Our team attended to help promote the City of Taneytown's (Maryland) Community Plan initiative and gather feedback from residents through a survey. (Shoutout to Emily Yatron in picture 1, who put a lot of work into this outreach!) - Two back-to-back Berks County events: In the last few weeks our Birdsboro team—including David Kee (pictured!), David Schlott, and Leonard Brown—attended both the Berks County Association of Township Officials' Annual Convention and the Berks County Public Works Association's Annual Tradeshow. -?MS4orum: Shoutout to Amanda Fetterman (a volunteer with Lancaster Clean Water Partners who helped on-site at the event) and Andrew Tuleya (who presented) for repping ARRO! -?PMAA Region 4 Meeting: Michael Schober, Nate Merkel, and Andrew Tuleya are all on-site today—Nate in his role as Assistant Director of Region 4, and Andrew providing a GIS training/demonstration to attendees. ARRO is heading to the Pennsylvania Municipal Authorities Association Region 4 Fall Meeting this week! —And we're excited to share that Andrew Tuleya will be presenting about GIS during one of the sessions this Thursday, October 24th. It’s always an honor to take the podium and contribute to important discussions in our industry. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

In honor of Pennsylvania's Riparian Buffer Month this October, we’re excited to share the recent successful completion of a riparian buffer installation in Lower Macungie Township, Lehigh County! This project involved planting 340 native, wet-tolerant trees along a tributary to the Little Lehigh Creek. It supports the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection's MS4 program, which focuses on implementing Pollutant Reduction Plans and Control Measures to improve water quality. The project also met several goals, policies and implementation strategies of the County Comprehensive and Park, Recreation and Open Space plans. With assistance from CKS Engineers, Inc. (an ARRO Consulting Company), the Township secured a COVID-19 ARPA Small Water and Sewer Grant from the Commonwealth Financing Authority. CKS also provided design drawings, managed the bidding process, and oversaw construction. This project is a great example of collaboration improving both our waterways and local ecosystems!

Shoutout to ARRO Consulting, Inc. for bringing us into this fantastic project! We had the privilege of providing a boundary survey for the Smithsburg Lions Community Park and a topographic survey of the stormwater pond. With the help of Washington County's extensive network of GPS survey control monuments, we’re able to deliver precise data. Catch Andrew Tuleya at the 2024 MS4orum Event this coming Monday, October 21st! Andrew will present "Using GIS for MS4 Compliance & Asset Management" at 11:00 AM. Discover how MS4 permit holders can utilize GIS technology to streamline planning, documentation, and analysis of permit-required efforts. Andrew will demonstrate effective methods for tracking compliance activities and capturing essential data on public reporting, inspections, and good housekeeping measures. The MS4orum, coordinated by Lancaster Clean Water Partners, will be held at Lancaster's Public Safety Training Center. Hope to see you there!
