The January Shipper Market Update is here! 2024 peak season delivered as expected. Routing guide disruption led to elevated spot market activity and rates, and the year-over-year volatility indicates that the market is well into its recovery stage. Winter storms Blair and Cora triggered volatility in early January, but conditions should stabilize later this month and into February. Our outlook for 2025 remains consistent: Continued balancing of supply and demand and the tightening spot-contract rate gap will create a greater risk for disruption this year.
