On a recent visit to Arriva Spain, our Executive Chair, David Martin visited our depots in Móstoles and Alcorcón to take a closer look at the zero-emission infrastructure and talk to colleagues who are running the operations alongside our Managing Director for Spain Antonio Cendrero Querol. These depots are servicing the southeast area of the Community of Madrid with electric buses, providing a modern and clean passenger experience and encouraging more people to leave their cars at home and switch to public transport.?#ModalShift #ZeroEmission #ArrivaZEI

We’re excited to be launching the next instalment of our successful advertising campaign There's a Bus for That ?? ?? Piloted last year, the aim of the campaign was to drive sustainable growth and increase ridership through converting occasional passengers into regular users and attracting non bus users to the mode. Results were measured evidencing that the campaign delivered material growth. Our pre-campaign research told us that to drive behavioural change and boost bus usage, buses need to be top of mind and that people are less concerned with who operates the bus service and more with the connections we facilitate—connecting customers with essential places and the people they love. Building on last year’s campaign success a second creative has been developed 'Bestest Day Ever' and this will run in rotation with the original ad 'Meeting a Friend'.?The campaign launches today and will run across TV on demand (ITVX & Sky) and at local cinemas. The objective of this industry campaign is to drive awareness and put bus, not just Arriva front of mind. The campaign will also include the usage of direct digital marketing to convert the awareness to patronage. ??? ??

As part of #NationalApprenticeshipWeek we're shining a spotlight on some of our great apprentices - and today it's Billy Morrison who is a first-year engineering and 'bodywork' apprentice with Arriva UK Bus, based at our depot in Stockton-on-Tees. How did you get interested in engineering? I did a mechanical engineering course at college, and I was looking for an apprenticeship and found Arriva. I’ve always enjoyed hands-on work and I enjoyed maths and physics at school, so engineering is where it’s at for me. What do you do as a bodywork apprentice? You take care of the look of the bus – painting and prepping the panels and making sure they’re well fitted. Also making sure the walkways, steps, passenger and driver seats are all OK. How have you found the course so far? It’s really good. Everyone’s helpful and I couldn’t enjoy the work more. Do you have any tips for people thinking about becoming apprentices? I’d say do it. People go to college to learn something and then try to get a job, but why wouldn’t you want to get paid to go to college and then have that career secured after it? It’s win-win situation.

We're celebrating #NationalApprenticeshipWeek by recognising the contribution of hundreds of apprentices working in our Arriva UK Trains and Arriva UK Bus businesses. Apprenticeships offer an accessible pathway to a career in passenger transport and we're shining a light on their varied contributions, starting with Leo Smith, a Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Apprentice with our Arriva Road Transport Services team. ?????? ?????? ?????? ???????????????????????????? ???????????? ???? ??????? I always knew I wanted to help people and make a real impact, but I struggled to find the right path that aligned with my values. I remember looking into apprenticeships as a way to ‘re-train’ and become more specialised after doing quite a broad degree in business management. This was how I found the community engagement apprenticeship and I have not looked back since. ???????? ???????? ???????? ???????????????????????????? ????????????????? The best part is that no two days are ever the same. Whether I am researching, developing and pitching new initiatives that align with our clients’ ambitions, supporting the charities and organisations we already work with to create lasting social value, or having a more relaxed day focused on my learning, within this role I get to really develop all of my professional skills. ?????? ???? ?????? ???????????????????????????? ?????????????? ?????? ??????????????? It's been an incredible opportunity for both personal and professional growth. It has given me real-world experience in making a difference, from working with communities to developing sustainability initiatives that create long-term positive change. Seeing the direct impact of social value work - whether it’s improving accessibility, supporting local businesses, or reducing environmental impact fuels my passion even more. It's a real platform for development and I’m excited for the future.
