As Thanksgiving nears, we're reminded of our gratitude for our Fair Chance Employment Symposium honorees from October 10th. We had the honor of recognizing four incredible partners who are making a difference in our community. Special thank you to Mayor Kate Gallego, Bank of America, Banner Health and Governor Katie Hobbs and the Arizona Department of Corrections And finally, a special thanks to JPMorganChase for being our lead presenting sponsor for the symposium.

关于我们
Arouet Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Arizona nonprofit corporation whose mission is to provide education assistance, workforce development and job opportunities to incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women who are sincere about working hard to change their livelihood. It all began inside Perryville Prison in Goodyear, Arizona in 2004. Televerde, a Department of Corrections workforce development partner, began a reentry program called T.O.P.S. (Transforming our Possibilities) to help prepare incarcerated women for life after prison, implementing programs that emphasize education, job skills, and post-release work opportunities, without increasing the burden on government. Then in 2011, Arouet Foundation was formed to take over these activities to ensure we were reaching a broader group of women. Arouet Foundation has proven that recidivism can be substantially reduced by more than 75%, with programs that emphasize education, job skills, and post-release work opportunities. Arouet Foundation has a goal of putting more people to work, and thereby reducing the increasing taxes we all share.

We were grateful to attend the 2024 Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC Phoenix) Annual Breakfast and Community Awards this morning, celebrating alongside the incredible Terry Goddard. The event highlighted the powerful history and remarkable restoration of The Abbey on Monroe—a beacon of community resilience and revitalization. It’s inspiring to see organizations and individuals dedicated to breathing new life into spaces that hold such deep historical significance. Honoring the efforts that make our communities stronger and brighter is truly rewarding. Thank you, LISC Phoenix, for bringing us together to celebrate these achievements and create more opportunities for growth and impact across our city! We are honored and beyond #Grateful to have received a Banner Health Impact Grant this year which has been instrumental in expanding our three-tier Arouet Mentorship Program. It's been an incredible success, making a real difference in the lives of the women and families we serve. This mentorship program has been critically important to the success and thriving of the women of Arouet. Tonight, we're hosting a very special Mentor-Mentee Holloween holiday party for over 100 people and their families, creating a real celebration for these families, celebrating the community we've built, all thanks to this amazing support from Banner Health. We'd also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Colleen McGregor, Arouet board member, Gil Valdez and Banner CEO Amy Perry for their unwavering support and dedication. #CommunityImpact #Mentorship #Arouet #BannerHealth Jamie Whipple Gil Velez #MentorshipMatters #HealthlyFamilies

HOT OFF THE PRESS Important Insights on Criminal Justice Reform I am pleased to share a recent report by BSG on behalf of one of Arouet's strongest National partners, FWD.us that reveals?widespread, bipartisan support for criminal justice reform. This report is a testament to the growing consensus across political and racial lines, with?81% of likely voters?supporting reform, including?76% of Republicans, 82% of Independents, and 85% of Democrats. And just as relevant for all of us is that this support is also strong in key battleground states, with?77% of AZ voters, 74% of GA voters, 81% of MI voters, and 80% of PA voters?backing reform. Why does this matter to Arouet? At Arouet, we are dedicated to supporting women involved in the justice system, providing them with the resources and opportunities they need to rebuild their lives. This report underscores the importance of our mission and the urgent need for policies that reduce incarceration and address the root causes of issues like homelessness and public health crises. Key Insights: 81% of likely voters?support criminal justice reform. 72% believe?it is important to reduce the jail and prison population. 65% recognize?that mass incarceration exacerbates issues like homelessness and drug overdoses. In an election year where every vote counts, this report shows that candidates who support criminal justice reform can gain crucial support. By a margin of more than 5 to 1, voters are more likely to support candidates who advocate for these changes. I strongly encourage everyone to read this report and join the conversation about why criminal justice reform is essential for creating a more just and equitable society. Together, we can make a difference. Elissa Johnson #CriminalJusticeReform #FairChanceHiring #Arouet #SocialJustice #Inclusion #Equity AZ POLL Results here:
