Congratulations to Roland Christensen and his team, including Alec Paradowski, as well as Tony Clayton, Michael Fruge, and Brilliant Clayton, for their record-setting $411 million jury verdict against Brock Services for a 28-year-old man who was severely injured on the job. After a week of trial, a Baton Rouge jury returned a unanimous verdict after two hours of deliberation, finding that Brock Services knew the incident was substantially certain to occur. This is the largest verdict in Louisiana history for a single personal injury Plaintiff. Our client had a heavy scaffolding bar dropped on his head. It resulted in a brain injury and spinal cord injury, confining him to a wheelchair. After litigating the case for nearly two years, Brock never took responsibility. We are happy this verdict will hold Brock accountable for harming our client. “I am grateful for the jury’s courage standing up to a very large company like Brock and telling Brock its conduct was unacceptable,” said Roland Christensen. “Without jury trials like this one, those who do the hardest and most dangerous work go unprotected. My hope is that this verdict will cause serious change in the scaffold industry to actually put safety first.” #arnolditkin

His mother, Patricia Koch, served as a district court judge, and his father, Michael Koch, is a seasoned personal injury attorney. From his parents, Cory learned the importance of advocacy and empathy. Cory earned his bachelor's degree in political science from Louisiana State University and continued his legal education at the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center. His legal journey includes invaluable experience clerking for Judge Kelly Balfour at the 19th Judicial District Court and studying international law in France at Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3. Recognized for his trial advocacy skills, Cory was invited to join the prestigious Wex Malone Inns of Court. Please join us in welcoming Attorney Aileen Christensen to the #arnolditkin team! Originally from Utah, Aileen's journey took her from earning a Ph.D. in French Literature at New York University to Texas, where she attended law school. During her time in academia, she presented her research at numerous conferences around the world, including at the MLA Annual Convention and the Annual Nineteenth-Century French Studies Colloquium. As a law clerk at #arnolditkin, Aileen worked on a significant case involving the death of a platform worker due to safety failures. After years of preparation, the jury's unanimous verdict cleared the worker of any fault, holding the company responsible. Another recent case she supported resulted in a $91 million verdict for 9 clients affected by a deadly plant explosion. These victories, achieved despite significant hurdles, are the type of cases Aileen is most passionate about. We’re honored to have Aileen on our team, and we look forward to seeing her continue to make a difference for our clients!

We’re excited to welcome Attorney Jonathan Mack to our team! Jonathan grew up in the DC suburbs and attended York College of Pennsylvania, where he earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice with a minor in legal studies. Graduating magna cum laude and making the dean's list all four years, Jonathan also excelled as a track and field athlete, serving as team captain in his junior and senior years, setting school records, and earning conference honors. Jonathan continued his academic journey at the University of Maryland School of Law, where he made his mark as a member of the Thurgood Marshall National Trial Team. As team captain, he led his team to first-place victories in both the Regional and National Constance Baker Motley Trial Team Competitions in 2023. In addition to his trial team success, Jonathan served as a research assistant to the Dean, worked as a student attorney in the Eviction Prevention Clinic, and externed as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Maryland. We’re thrilled to have Jonathan on board and look forward to the energy and dedication he’ll bring to our team! #arnolditkin
