?? Honoring Dr. King's Legacy Through Service ?? Today, we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day — a time to honor his vision of equality, community, and service. This day is also a call to action: how can we make a positive impact in our communities and beyond? If you’re looking for ways to serve with an environmental focus, here are some ideas to consider: ?? Mulch trees and plants to support healthy growth. ?? Start a compost and reduce food waste. ?? Tend a garden and nurture biodiversity. ?? Develop a project to conserve rainwater in your home, church, or community. ?? Educate others about safer, eco-friendly cleaning products. ?? Insulate windows to improve energy efficiency. Let’s honor Dr. King by working together to care for our communities and our planet. Serving Hearts, Spreading Cheer: A Holiday Moment Worth Sharing ???? The holiday season has a way of keeping us all on our toes, and in the hustle and bustle, we didn’t want to miss the chance to share something truly heartwarming—even if it’s a little late. ??? On December 19, members of the AEC Southeast Division Team stepped up as pillars of the community, joining the Northside San Antonio food drive to spread some much-needed holiday cheer. Together, they helped families facing food insecurity, ensuring they had nourishing meals for the Christmas holiday. ????? It's an inspiring reminder of the power of teamwork and compassion, and it’s moments like these that truly make the season brighter...not just for those we serve, but for us as well. A huge thank you to everyone who made this possible as we carry this spirit of giving into the New Year! ???? #AECares #servantspirit #armycivilian U.S. Army Installation Management Command

?? STRESS MANAGEMENT FOR SUCCESS: Highlights from January's AEC Leaders Professional Development Session ?? On January 6, 2025, our monthly AEC Leaders Professional Development (LPD) session took a deep dive into Stress Management, led by the JBSA Armed Forces Wellness Center. Attendees kicked things off by completing a Perceived Stress Scale, setting the stage for a meaningful discussion about how stress impacts us personally and professionally. They left with a resource packet filled with tools, techniques, and templates to continue their wellness journey. The session explored: ?? What stress really is and its effects on physical and mental health. ?? The difference between good stress (that motivates) and bad stress (that overwhelms). ?? Practical strategies to reduce stress, such as: Prioritizing good nutrition. Staying active. Getting quality sleep. With stress management being vital for both professional success and personal well-being, this session was a timely reminder of the power of proactive self-care. Here’s to building resilient leaders who can thrive under pressure! ?? #AECares #professionaldevelopment Armed Forces Wellness Center | U.S. Army Installation Management Command | Joint Base San Antonio

?? Ensuring Environmental Health Across Army Installations Worldwide ?? USAEC professionals recently conducted a critical Environmental Performance Assessment System (EPAS) review at U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz. These assessments, done every three years,?evaluate compliance with environmental laws like the Clean Air Act and sustainability practices. With leadership from USAEC Commander, Col. Vance M. Brunner, and Command Sgt. Maj. Francisco J. Cardenas Jr., the team collaborates with the garrison's Environmental Management Division to support compliance, sustainability, and environmental stewardship. In overseas locations like Germany, the team must also navigate and understand foreign environmental policies and agreements to ensure alignment and cooperation. The results will guide upcoming discussions at the Environmental Quality Control Committee (EQCC), helping shape future initiatives to balance mission readiness with environmental care. ?? This work shows how USAEC helps installations around the globe stay environmentally strong while supporting the Army’s mission. ?? Strengthening Global Bonds for a Sustainable Future ?? Recently, USAEC hosted Brazilian Army leaders for their second environmental exchange, continuing an incredible sharing of expertise built on shared goals of sustainability and conservation. From dynamic discussions at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston to hands-on tours at Fort Cavazos, this exchange wasn’t just about comparing notes, it was about building connections. Both teams shared ideas on managing resources, protecting ecosystems, and navigating the challenges of sustainability within military missions. Brazil’s deep environmental roots - spanning six unique biomes - and Fort Cavazos’ innovative programs like single-stream recycling and wildlife-friendly gardens showcased the unique strengths each brings to the table. Spc. Lucas Deoliveira, a Brazilian native, added a personal touch, bridging the language gap and highlighting how people truly connect us. This exchange reminds us that collaboration isn’t just a buzzword, it’s the key to tackling global challenges. Together, we’re shaping a greener, stronger future. ?? #Sustainability #Environmental #BrazilianArmy #DPIMA #FortCavazos U.S. Army Installation Management Command | Brazilian Army (Exército Brasileiro) | U.S. Army South (Sixth Army) https://lnkd.in/g5eGEhTP
