Never a dull moment in security. Google acquires Wiz for a whopping $32B! Yesterday, I had a chance to catch up with ArmorCode Inc. CSTO and Chief Customer Success Officer, Karthik Swarnam to get his thoughts on this big moment and what it means for ArmorCode Inc.. Here are some highlights from it. Check out the video below for more details. Karthik is 4X CISO, with several of them as CISO of Fortune 10 and 20 companies. So, he is my Go-To person to make sense of big moments like this. We unpacked what this move signals for the broader cybersecurity landscape— pros and cons to factor in as we evaluate this acquisition. Kartik’s takes were sharp, as always: ?? Consolidation is trending—but it’s not one-size-fits-all. Every enterprise has a unique risk posture, tech stack, and cloud environment. Consolidation makes sense in some areas but not in others—especially in risk management you need independent, unbiased, and complete view of the risk. ?? Multi-cloud realities demand modular thinking. In today’s world of AWS + Azure + GCP, security solutions tightly coupled to just one of these can create blind spots in others. Enterprises need the freedom to plug in best-of-breed capabilities that objectively aggregate risk across all the cloud and scanner tech stack without vendor lock-in. ?? Risk needs a horizontal, unbiased view. Consolidation make sense when one is trying to bring risk from different horizontal domains into a singular view —from code to infra to cloud—and stay agile as threats evolve. At ArmorCode Inc., this news signifies a validation for a big bet we made on ASPM almost 5 years ago, that there is a need for a platform that provides singular view of risk across applications, infrastructure, cloud, and other tech stack.
