Chinmay Samak and I recently got a chance to represent ARMLab CU-ICAR at the #CADRI (??loud-based ??utonomous ??riving software ??esearch ??nfrastructure) workshop, where we had the privilege of delivering a keynote on the role of AutoDRIVE Ecosystem's #DigitalTwins in autonomy verification and validation. ?? It was a great pleasure to connect with fellow researchers and innovators in the fields of #AutonomousDriving, #DigitalTwins, #Simulation, #SoftwareEngineering, #CloudComputing, #SoftwareTesting, #Cybersecurity, #Verification, and #Validation. ?? We thoroughly enjoyed the insightful presentations and engaging discussions on the opportunities and challenges faced by the community. Looking forward to keeping in touch, continuing the dialogue, and advancing these efforts collectively. ?? Kudos to Dr. Joshua Garcia and Dr. Alfred Chen for hosting such a thought-provoking gathering at UC Irvine. We were honored to have been invited to be a part of it. Something exciting is taking shape within the walls of ARMLab CU-ICAR at Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research. We're diving deep into the world of autonomous systems with our latest project: a 1/3 scale autonomous vehicle! Guided by PhD students Chinmay Samak and Tanmay Samak, and under the supervision of Dr. Venkat N. Krovi, Samarth Patil and I are engineering an Autonomous Electric Go-Kart, building upon the previous efforts of Rohit Ravikumar and Abhilash Tukkar. Inspired by the open-source AV4EV platform designed by the Autoware Foundation and being from the Clemson Automotive Engineering, we are working on optimized and innovative designs to infuse robotics with automotive-grade ruggedness and reliability. We're proud to be contributing to the open-source community by sharing our experiences and aiding in the platform's evolution. This project is not just about building a vehicle; it's about fostering innovation and pushing the boundaries of autonomous driving technology. Our ARMLab CU-ICAR team had the opportunity to visit Dr. Phinnize J. Fisher Middle School in Greenville, SC, as part of our ongoing outreach efforts to introduce young minds to the exciting world of autonomy and robotics. We showcased some of our latest robotics research, demonstrating real-world applications of AI and autonomy. It’s always inspiring to see young students' "aha!" moments—whether it's watching a robot navigate obstacles, or understanding how sensors work -- to highlight that STEM is not just about equations but about solving real problems that impact the world. At ARMLab, we believe the future of robotics isn’t just about the technology we build today but about the minds we inspire for tomorrow.
