This past weekend, I told my wife Mary that Labor Day Weekend is quickly becoming one of my favorite holidays. She sees it differently—she’s deep in back-to-school prep for the kids. But for me, there’s something about the late-summer weather that sparks reflection and a shift in focus, both personally and for our clients. As we gear up for what will be the busiest period in our company’s history, we took the weekend to prepare, celebrate, and fine-tune. First, we launched a new version of our website. I’d love for you to check it out at alanarlt.com. We’ve expanded our services, honing in on three pillars: Strategy, Growth, and Development. Second, we've partnered with Intro starting September 1. You can find links to Book A Call on our website. For the month of September, we are donating half of our Intro proceeds to the 9/11 Tunnel to Towers Foundation. As we enter this new season, I want to thank all of our current and future clients for making 2024 our most exciting year yet. Here’s to continued growth in the months ahead. - Alan Arlt #sportsconsulting #sportsbusiness

My father was a blue-collar worker his entire career before passing away unexpectedly at 58 years old. My career choice followed a different path—white-collar office roles. Only now, later in my career, do I see the thread reaching back, not to my first entry-level job in New York City, but to the weekends spent working on our small hobby farm with my dad in Minnesota. Builders are builders, no matter the profession or company size. Embracing a builder's mentality has kept me motivated and fuels my tribute to my dad in all the work I do today. - Alan Arlt Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/g4vyy6hS

Is anyone else feeling the diminishing returns from business books? After consuming nothing but business books for several years, I’ve been craving a jump back into my first love, fiction, this summer. I’ve discovered that novels provide ageless wisdom, helping me navigate and understand the most intricate business challenges with clarity and inspiration. - Alan Read more in the latest issue of The Sports Life and subscribe. https://lnkd.in/gKqQCmMJ

Despite my best efforts, I've never caught the golf bug. Nonetheless, I have immense respect for the game—arguably, it is the most challenging sports in the world to master. I admire Tiger's relentless ambition and his mindset of continual improvement, even at the height of his career. From Tiger's approach, we can extract valuable business lessons, notably the importance of being willing to "change your swing" even at the top of your profession. I explore this comparison in the latest issue of The Sports Life. -Alan Arlt https://lnkd.in/g6PFa7pZ #tigerwoods #sports #mindset

In the latest issue of The Sports Life, I reflect on my return to my hometown of Minneapolis after a decade in New York City, and how I was able to build a business network through basketball by launching Ultimate Hoops. One approach I encourage sports enthusiasts who want to start and grow a diverse professional network is to start their own recreational sports league, merging their passion for sports with community-building. - Alan Arlt https://lnkd.in/g6QA7Zqb #sports #networking

Reflecting on how far technology has advanced since I first launched Ultimate Hoops back in 2006, I often find myself wondering: What if I were starting the league today? In the latest issue of The Sports Life, I explore how I would leverage today's advancements to recreate the Ultimate Hoops experience in 2024. From operating as a one-person band to creating streamlined game nights, I share a glimpse of a reimagined UH future through the lens of the past. https://lnkd.in/gdCkdWiy Shoutout to all those early UH volunteers I mentioned in the issue's footnotes who helped me through UH's first year - Michael Baker Roth Sanner Steve Schmidt ?? As we prep for the Men’s Final Four this weekend, it’s timely to reshare an article I wrote for one of our clients, SportsVisio, originally published on their website last week. My collaboration with SportsVisio over the past six months has provided insights that stretch beyond technology. It’s about using AI to celebrate and stay rooted in the human connectivity and unpredictability of sports. -Alan Arlt
March has given way to April, but the most important games are still to come. Will Caitlin Clark get Iowa over the line? Will UConn repeat? We love this time of year. https://lnkd.in/evzDC55x. #stats #highlights #sports #marchmadness
