Arlington Neighborhood Village is seeking an enthusiastic individual to serve as a?part-time, paid coordinator?(about 10 hours per week) on the new Arlington Community Ambassador Program – a county-wide effort to provide information to help older adults understand and access the many programs and support services across Arlington, VA. A Wonderful Night of Celebration! ?? ?? On May 2nd, 2024, 260 ANV members, volunteers, staff, board, and supporters joyfully gathered to commemorate a decade of neighbors helping neighbors age in place. Board President Larry Padberg was the Master of Ceremonies, State Senator Barbara Favola gave a welcome speech detailing the need for villages and her work to advocate for more support from the state, Arlington County Board Chair Libby Garvey read a?County Proclamation?honoring ANV's impact, and Founder Carol Paquette recounted ANV's inspirational beginning and growth. At the end of the evening, the crowd enjoyed a performance from The Arlingtones acapella group, No Note Left Behind. It was a special evening that embodied the hard work and passion of ANV's founders, board, and staff who--together with every member and volunteer--took the village model and created a model village. The evening was a true expression of ANV's culture of caring and the human connection that fuels our village. We are inspired and grateful to contribute to something greater than ourselves. Together,?we are creating an Arlington where older residents of all abilities, races, cultures, and means can age in place with dignity and autonomy with genuine connection and support.

Arlington Neighborhood Village?has been chosen as a?finalist?for the?2024 Arlington Best Business Awards in the non-profit category!? The winner will be announced at the Arlington Chamber of Commerce’s 38th?Annual Best Business Awards Ceremony at the Army Navy Country Club on the evening of Tuesday, May 14. This year’s field was extremely competitive and we congratulate the other finalists in this and other categories.?Look for the announcement of the winner on May 14. We’ve got our fingers crossed??
