ACHF in the news: KBTX News 3 at Six Weekday On Tuesday, March 4, Lena Denman spoke to KBTX Media about the heightened sense of fear she has seen from Ukrainian partners since President Trump halted all military aid to Ukraine. Just this week, Lena had to reassure clinicians that work with ACHF that private funding is still secure. "[The suspension of military aid is] not only giving Russia more momentum and confidence, but it is basically telling them that whatever terms they want that our government’s going to agree to at this moment,” said Lena Denman, founder of Arlene Campbell Humanitarian Foundation." Watch the clip here: https://lnkd.in/gRgpAaYY As the story continues to develop, we urge you to contact your senators and tell them you #SupportUkraine. ACHF will continue to provide support through medical donations and for our partners in Ukraine. #ACHFSavingLives #StandWithUkraine #Ukraine #ForeignAid #BreakingNews #supportukrainians #humanitarianaid #privatesector #supportukrainians #ForeignPolicy

BREAKING NEWS: The White House is suspending all military aid to Ukraine. “The order is to take effect immediately, affecting hundreds of million of dollars in arms and ammunition in the pipelines and on order.” - The New York Times Lives will be lost because of this decision. “The most immediate beneficiary is President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia. If the suspension is lengthy, he can use the time to press for further territorial gains. And he may well decide to hold back from any negotiations at all, figuring that any prolonged dispute between Trump and Zelensky will only strengthen his position, either on the battlefield or when cease-fire talks take place.” - David Sanger Read the article to learn more and stay alert for updates. Back in December, Lena Denman and Maria Ivanova visited a boarding house in the #Kyiv district. While there, they passed out gifts and Christmas lights for the children's rooms. "We have orphaned children from the frontline areas here. They now have guardian parents. Here they recieve treatment and rehabilitation," one of the caregivers explained. Through your generosity, ACHF was able to pass out gifts to 23 kids at the boarding house –– two gifts to each kid! Although we had to blur their faces for their safety, the joy of the children still shines through this video. In troubling times, it is encouraging to look back on the successful projects we have been able to complete for Ukraine. Something as small as reciveing a gift makes a world of a difference to these children who have endured so much. Thank you, donors, for helping to buy these gifts and support Lena's trip overseas. Additional thanks to UMCOR who helped support this trip and the mental health initiative work that was done on this trip as well. #ACHFSavingLives #Ukraine #StandWithUkraine #supportukraine #humanitarianaid #JoyfulMoments #nonprofitorganization

"You can't just call it a crisis, it's an all out war." Due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, many people in Ukraine are suffering from PTSD. Through grant funding from UMCOR - United Methodist Committee On Relief (General Board of Global Ministries) and donor support, ACHF has been able to implement a number of mental health initiatives over the last year to help build up mental health infrastructure in Ukraine. At our May Mental Health seminar, ACHF trained 19 clinicians - both psychologists and psychiatrists - who are currently treating patients who have suffered becuase of Russia's invasion. From June to October of 2024, five of our closest partner clincians had held over 2,100 appointments. This number will only go up as Russia continues to inflict human rights atrocities and suffering on the people of Ukraine. "We really could use your support at a time where our government doesn't seem to be doing the job." ACHF will continue to offer support where others fall short. It is only through generous donations that we can continue our work. Help us stand in the gap and shine a light on Ukraine. #ACHFSavingLives #ukraineinamerica #StandWithUkraine #supportukraine #humanitarianaid #ukraine #BreakingNews #ptsd #mentalhealth #mentalhealthcare The New York Times The Associated Press The Washington Post ABC News NBC News CNN MSNBC Fox News Media BBC BBC News The Guardian The Telegraph KBTX Media

How is ACHF helping Ukraine right now? Currently, we are working with Seattle Children's to secure cardiovascular supplies for the Children's Center for Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery. The UCCC was damaged in July of 2024 after Russia launched attacks on Okhmatdyt, the largest pediatric hospital in Ukraine. ACHF representatives Lena Denman and Masha Ivanova witnessed the events of July 8 unfold in real time, and our organization has been helping UCCC with rebuilding their infrastructure since then. Through joint efforts with Elevate Ukraine, ACHF was able to send over cardiovascular supplies in December. Lena and Masha also passed out Christmas Gifts to children in the hospital receiving care, offering a glimmer of hope to those who have seen the pain caused by Russia. #ACHFSavingLives #ukraineinamerica #StandWithUkraine #supportukraine #humanitarianaid #ukraine #BreakingNews The New York Times The Associated Press The Washington Post ABC News NBC News CNN MSNBC Fox News Media BBC BBC News The Guardian The Telegraph KBTX Media

"We have been helping even prior to 2022, next year will be our tenth anniversary for the Arlene Campbell Humanitarian Foundation." How does the Arlene Campbell Humanitarian Foundation send aid to Ukraine? We send over medical supplies and build up medical infrastructure – namely in the mental health field. We have had the honor to work with a number of hospitals across the country, and have a team of 19 clinicians that we helped trian in PTSD treatment methods last May. This training was made possible by grant funding from UMCOR (General Board of Global Ministries) and donations from our generous donors. As the future of US support for Ukraine is uncertain, we know that we will continue to stand in the gap through donor and private support. #ACHFSavingLives #ukraineinamerica #StandWithUkraine #supportukraine #humanitarianaid #ukraine #BreakingNews The New York Times The Associated Press The Washington Post ABC News NBC News CNN MSNBC Fox News Media BBC BBC News The Guardian The Telegraph KBTX Media

Words from Cory Booker, U.S. senator from New Jersey, on Friday's disastrous conversation between Zelensky, Trump and JD Vance. The caption on the Reel reads, "Today America lost, Ukraine lost and Putin won." Watch the Reel: https://lnkd.in/gg8Kus5d "What defines us is not our power to dominate the weak. What demonstrates our character is not our capacity to traumatize the afflicted. What speaks our truth is not how we taunt, deride or belittle those who are embattled, broken, or battered," Booker said. "We're at our best when we are resolut against evil, not when we kowtow those who perpetrate it." Thank you Senator Cory Booker, for putting the thoughts of many into such well-crafted words. We are truly America when we uplift our allies, not belittle them. #ACHFSavingLives #ukraineinamerica #supportukraine #StandWithUkraine #CoryBooker #humanitarianaid #ukraine #ukrainian

"I firmly believe that we can demonstrate that we are lending a helping hand to Ukraine." After yesterday's tumultious Oval Office meeting between Zelensky, Trump and JD Vance, Lena Denman speaks on behalf of Arlene Campbell Humanitarian Foundation. After almost ten years of humanitarian service in Ukraine, ACHF has seen the needs of Ukraine before – and during – Russia's full scale invasion. Through our involvement in Ukraine, ACHF representatives have also had the opportunity to meet the people of Ukraine. "I've traveled all over Ukraine, I have yet to meet somebody who treated me with direspect. Not a single Ukrainian has ever treated me poorly when I have been in that country," Lena said. And let's make one thing clear: Ukraine is thankful for the support that the US has shown them. "They know that Amreican taxpayers help pay for the weapons to defend them from the human rights atrocities from Russia..." Denman said. Yesterday's Oval Office meeting was not what it should have been. In fact, it gave a clear depiction of what diplomacy should NOT look like: rife with bullying, interruptions and disrespect. "I firmly believe that we must stand with our ally at this moment. What happened yesterday was embarassing, it was despicable – and the Ukrainian community is angry: both in Ukraine and in the United States. Please stand with us." In a moment when the government is not supporting an ally, we have the power to act as individual Americans. Today and everyday, we have the choice to support Ukraine in our own right as American. As the situation continues to develop, let us act in unity for the Ukrainian people. #ACHFSavingLives #StandWithUkraine #supportukraine #BreakingNews The New York Times The Associated Press The Washington Post ABC News NBC News CNN MSNBC Fox News Media Fox News TV BBC BBC News The Guardian The Guardian US The Telegraph KBTX Media
