I hadn’t slept for more than 24 hours, having just arrived in the Valley, but I think it still went great! Some great news!

A recent piece of good news I received is an invitation to give a guest lecture at Stanford University for the CS 522 course (AI in Healthcare). Was I excited to get this invitation? Absolutely — let’s be honest, anyone would be inspired to receive such an offer. But with this invitation comes responsibility, and I’m currently preparing diligently for the lecture. It’s a chance not only to share knowledge with young, motivated students and Stanford faculty but also to convey my vision for the development of technology, share my insights, and hear others’ perspectives. It’s an opportunity to meet interesting people and perhaps find partners and like-minded individuals — because when you do deep tech, finding an environment that shares your passion for innovation is invaluable. During the StartX program, we had the privilege of meeting the authors of the bestseller Venture Mindset — Professor Ilya Strebulaev of Stanford Business School and Alex Dang, Senior Advisor at McKinsey & Company — and receiving personally signed copies of their book. They shared fascinating insights into the VC phenomenon, whose performance doesn’t always align with market norms. I’ve finally started reading the book, which begins with the story of Zoom. As many of you know, Zoom was originally called Saasbee. This story stands out not only because of Eric Yuan’s inspiring journey but also due to the folks at Qualcomm Ventures, who invested in Zoom’s future even though Saasbee had no customers at the time. Yuan had the technology and the vision, and that’s where the magic happens — when perceptive VCs see potential in a small team capable of challenging industry giants. Not all VCs have that kind of vision, just as not all startups have an exceptional product. But sometimes, it’s those small teams that disrupt entire markets. As the book states, “no one is immune from the possibility of disruption.” This story drives me — it pushes me to keep going, even in the face of big competitors and industry giants. When it comes to developing new visions and approaches, we are all on equal ground, whether big or small. Innovations come from people, and while having financial resources is important, having a vision is even more crucial. I’m not the most active LinkedIn user — I’m more used to Facebook since LinkedIn often feels like a feed of “success stories,” while I prefer to share my thoughts in a more authentic way. Nevertheless, I’m thinking of writing here more often, especially since I have a lot of news to share. I can tell you about my achievements by sharing my deck ??. This is a long read, as I’m trying to become a more active LinkedIn user, and the only way to do that is by finding value. For me, the value of any social network is always in the ability to share your thoughts with both like-minded and non-like-minded people ??. It’s been over a month since I returned from Palo Alto, where I spent 10 weeks participating in the StartX accelerator program. It was an incredible experience in the best startup environment, and the time spent there truly changed me. Startups are built by people who can be called crazy — not in a psychiatric sense, but in their drive, motivation, ideas, and actions. It’s very contagious ??. It’s contagious also because StartX has created an incredibly safe and supportive environment for founders, where you receive advice from people with vast experience, including those who have built unicorns, and you communicate with them as if you’ve known each other since childhood. That’s because StartX is a place created by founders for founders, and that’s why we call ourselves the StartX Family. Success is simple — it lies in simplicity. Of course, hard work is essential, but true success is in simple thinking and the genuine desire to change the world, to be outside the system, and to know what shouldn’t be done.
