"I'd do anything in my power to see you just smile I want you to prosper" (Smile Juice World) Yesterday’s holiday celebration and pitch competition marked the perfect finale to a historic, love-filled, and triumphant year for Black Tech Saturdays, for Detroit, and for Michigan’s rising tech community. It’s rare for a community to dream and discover itself the way we have—to turn bold visions into tangible milestones in such a short time. That journey alone is a victory. Our first-ever pitch competition, powered by the Gilbert Family Foundation, was nothing short of magical. Michigan Central and Newlab generously opened their spaces to us, and we filled them with hope, energy, and the weight of dreams being shared aloud. A packed house bore witness to 30 finalists, each offering their hearts and ambitions to the world. To everyone who submitted: narrowing down the list was no easy task, and the judges faced the near-impossible challenge of selecting just three winners. Arke has officially delivered our first round customers their adventure kits. It took a lot of hard work, perseverance and attention to quality in detail to accomplish this. There were so many road bumps that pushed us back, but we stayed persistent and pushed through. We are happy to announce that we have officially completed our first B2C beta and plan to roll out a pilot for our B2B GTM. We have developed strategic partnerships that will see our next phase through. We thank everybody for the continuous support. This is only the beginning of our journey.

Just a few months ago, I visited Detroit for the first time, and now I’m heading back for round THREE—this time as a guest speaker at the RECESS24: Resilience and Equity in the Clean Energy Sector Summit, happening September 9 – 11 at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center.
