I'm excited to share something very close to my heart: the Arkansas Mentor Fund (AMF). As the Director of Finance for AMF, I have seen firsthand the power of mentorship. The AMF pairs Walton MBA students with Springdale High School students, creating opportunities for learning, growth, and connection. Our program also awards scholarships to outstanding students who demonstrate leadership, dedication, and a willingness to grow—traits that are vital for success. Last year, I had the incredible privilege of mentoring Mario, a Springdale High School student. Together, we worked on college applications, and I'm proud to share that Mario is now thriving at Dartmouth. I still stay in touch with him today, helping him navigate his first year of college and consider the next steps in his journey. It has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. This year, we want to make an even bigger impact. Our goal is to double the number of scholarships—from two to four $1,000 scholarships. These funds go directly to students who pour their heart and soul into their year-long project: a "Shark Tank"-style pitch competition called "The Hog Pen," where they present their product ideas to judges from the corporate community. These students are brilliant, determined, and ready to make a difference. Your support can help us reach this goal and give these young leaders the recognition and encouragement they deserve. If you’re interested in supporting, the donation link is live—every contribution helps us make a difference! https://lnkd.in/eJywTViy Thank you for being part of this journey. Let’s lift these students up together. *All donations to AMF contribute to the AMF Scholarship Fund and Program Management. Donations may qualify as tax deductible. If you have any questions or concerns regarding donations, please contact the AMF team at [email protected].

Thankful for our #WaltonMBA mentors! Tevin Robinson served in both the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 AMF programs at Springdale High School. Congratulations to Tevin and all the second year #MBA mentors graduating from the University of Arkansas -- Sam M. Walton College of Business! #UARK #WPS #AMF
Earlier this month, my mentees presented their idea at the 2024 Arkansas Mentor Fund Showcase. This year’s theme was outdoors. The students were tasked with identifying a community problem and devising a solution for it. They proposed creating an outdoor sanctuary. This space would serve as a serene and productive 'third place' for students and business professionals in the NWA area. As they developed their presentation, they focused heavily on the feasibility of the project. The topics in their presentation ranged from competitors to financial costs: fixed and variable. I’m proud of the dedication and perseverance these students have shown over the past few months. It's been a remarkable two years, but as they say, all good things must come to an end. I would also like to thank Mrs. Whitaker (L) & Mrs. Perez (R), the phenomenal women shown in the last photo. Their support has been a cornerstone of this program's success over the last few years. Additionally, I want to thank Nathan for taking the baton this year and leading us into another successful year. Thank you Walton MBA - University of Arkansas for everything. #ArkansasMentorFund #WaltonMBA #team #outdoor #presentation #presentation #Mentoring

It takes a village! Sydney Dunavant, sales intern at Henkel, joined the 2023-2024 #AMF program as a first-year #WaltonMBA student. Dunavant served as mentor to this year's "Best Individual Presenter" Carlos Lupercio from EnRoute, an app that integrates weather, trail traffic, ratings/reviews, a mosquito forecast and more to make outdoor trails and hikes more convenient and accessible. ?? look closely for a sneak peek at our big news for 2024-2025! #OutdoorRecreation #NorthwestArkansas
