Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators

The National Association of Federal Education Program Administrators (NAFEPA) recently honored the 2025 State Leadership Recipients for their outstanding dedication to federal educational programs and service to children. Arkansas recipients recognized at the NAFEPA 2025 National Conference in Washington, DC, included Terry Darnell (Green Forest School District), Amy Robson (Flippin School District), and Amanda Bittle (Bald Knob School District). They are pictured below with NAFEPA Board members Kimberly Glass (Springdale School District) and Lea Metcalf-McDonald (Texarkana School District). Additionally, Lauren Juhl, a senior at Maumelle High School in the Pulaski County Special School District, received the John A. Pfaff Scholarship of $2,500 and a $1,000 scholarship from the Arkansas Association of Federal Coordinators. She is also the first Arkansas recipient of the NAFEPA Scholarship. Congratulations Lauren!

The 2025 AAESP Above and Beyond Award was awarded to Tressie Fowler, the High School Principal of the Danville School District. With nearly three decades of service to her community, she has positively impacted the lives of numerous students. Tressie truly exemplifies the spirit of the Above and Beyond Award, which was established to honor selfless leaders dedicated to Arkansas school districts.

AAEA had the pleasure of presenting Tory Moix, Greenbrier School District, the AAMLA Assistant Principal of the Year Award at the opening of the Greenbrier School District Board meeting last week.?Congratulations Tory!

Congratulations to Debbie Jones, Ed.D. of Bentonville Schools for being selected as the 2025 AAEA Superintendent of the Year. Not only did Dr. Jones win the state award, but she has also been named as a top four finalist for the National Superintendent of the Year award by AASA, The School Superintendents Association. We are proud to support wonderful superintendents like her in the state!

AAEA surprised Crystal Carranco last Thursday by announcing she was selected as the 2025 Assistant Elementary Principal of the Year. We are proud to celebrate her outstanding contributions and we look forward to the impact she will continue to make in education.
