Workforce development is critical to the success of our state, and we are making progress every day to be more competitive and to prepare the next generation of Arkansans for the workplace. Today, we announced the HIRED Grants – 19 educational institutions and organizations will receive a total of $48 million to implement employer-driven programs that will help get Arkansans ready for the workforce. This was a great collaboration between educational institutions, government, and the private sector. Working together, we have broken down silos to get to this moment of awarding the grants. Now the pedal will hit the metal – the Arkansas Workforce Connections and Arkansas Office of Skills Development teams will be working to disburse these funds, and the educational institutions will put their programs into action. We look forward to the results that these programs will bring – measurable in the jobs that will be created and the economic momentum that it will bring to Arkansas.
