The past few months of getting into the #UAS industry has been incredible! There is so much to learn and so much fun to be had. From flying to designing to building and modifying, there is always something to do and even more to learn. Such a humbling time to know that this is only the beginning of my experience in an incredibly impacting field. Building a 7" autonomous mapping drone in school with modifications made in #CAD #Fusion360 and #3d printed to becoming addicted to flying #FPV it never stops being interesting! I don't think this field will ever get dull and I'm stoked to see where I can run with it all. K9 Defense Tech just open-sourced their Genesis Edge AI FPV. The architecture behind the Genesis family largely optimizes for mass production, and the Edge AI variant was designed specifically for drone swarm development, tactical sensor tests, edge AI field experiments, etc (a developer’s dream). CAD file (and FPV hardware kits) can be found on their site.

It's finally ready for flight testing! This week I finished up the build on the 7 inch drone we'll be using for mapping and survey missions later this year. I've learned so much through this project, from soldering to battery assembly.. it's been a blast. I was even given the opportunity to design the housing for our RID and Radio Rx units, used by the whole class. All that's left is to get it outside and test fly! The total deal size is $2.3B. - Neros Technologies has announced the Neros Archer, which becomes "the first FPV drone on the Blue UAS list." The long-range FPV drone is "capable of carrying a 2 kg/4.5 lb payload over 20 kilometers." The UAS is manufactured in the United States, and they have been working with DIU and the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory to further refine Archer. - Open X has announced the first international shipment of its COLAB to Japan. - Circuit has raised a $17M Series B. The startup is focused on first/last-mile mobility for consumers using electric shuttles. - Vale, the Brazilian mining firm, will invest over $12B in its Carajás complex in Northern Brazil. By 2030, iron ore production is expected to reach 200 million tons per year. - Apptronik has raised a $350M Series A.
