You can help provide hope and housing for seniors, veterans, and adults with disabilities by donating to AZHF! With a $250K grant from the Arizona Housing Fund, The Society of St. Vincent de Paul - Phoenix's De Paul Manor is helping seniors transition out of homelessness with safe shelter and support. This grant was made possible by generous donors and Real Estate industry leaders like YOU! The need is urgent—chronic homelessness in Maricopa County has more than doubled (103%) since 2017, and it’s still rising, with seniors being the fastest growing group experiencing homelessness. We can change this. Every donation to AZHF helps fund real housing solutions for our most vulnerable neighbors. Let’s make home a reality for more Arizonans. Support today: bit.ly/give-AZHF

Seniors have unique needs, so they sometimes can't be safely served in regular shelters. This makes them more likely to end up living on the streets—or, in Kim's case, in their cars.? Although Kim's story is set in Montana, thousands of seniors just like him face homelessness in Arizona, and that number continues to climb.? Listen to the full NPR interview: https://bit.ly/4bKYf35

We were proud to name NexMetro as AZHF's 2024 Partner of the Year! Thank you to Arizona Digital Free Press for covering this exciting news! In the words of our Founder Howard Epstein: “NexMetro has embraced this cause from the start. The company has donated more than $50,000 to the Arizona Housing Fund, with every dollar donated to qualified Arizona nonprofits to build and operate more permanent supportive housing for Arizona’s most vulnerable populations, including seniors, veterans, and those suffering from mental illness. But even more importantly, NexMetro is an enthusiastic ambassador showing other multifamily owners, property managers, and real estate companies that if we all get involved and do our part, we can make a significant difference, and fund the housing needed to end homelessness in our state.” Thanks, NexMetro, for your tremendous support! I want to share an The Arizona Republic | azcentral.com | La Voz article by Catherine Reagor about the Central Arizona Shelter Services (CASS) project, The Haven. This hotel-to-housing conversion project will provide a home to seniors previously living unsheltered. And it was made possible in part with a $100,000 grant from Arizona Housing Fund. While grants from the Arizona Housing Fund are certainly not the largest piece of the funding puzzle for nonprofit housing projects like these (thanks Arizona Department of Housing and City of Phoenix!), AZHF grants often help cover unexpected construction costs and help them get across the finish line and open their doors. And a shoutout to the impact of media coverage -- this weekend, Catherine Reagor forwarded an email from someone who read this article and said he wanted to get involved and donate to the Arizona Housing Fund. He then followed up and told me he thought hundreds or thousands of people would read the article at make a small donation to the Fund. As my Bubby would say, "From his lips to god's ears!"

We're grateful for the great media coverage on The Haven. This is a project we're incredibly proud to support with a $100,000 grant awarded in 2023. It's all hands on deck to solve homelessness in Arizona, and it took many community partners to bring this project to fruition. Thank you to Balin Overstolz-McNair for reporting on this vital asset to our community! cc: Central Arizona Shelter Services (CASS) https://lnkd.in/g9B3CsNQ
