This core sample from around the Cactus West deposit, highlights 2.7 metres of 1.25% Total Copper from the broader interval of 578 m averaging 0.41% Total Copper. Drilling at Cactus West is focused in the south, and down to the basement fault, well below the currently defined mineralization. Our Cactus Project geology team recently had the pleasure of hosting The University of British Columbia's MDRU - Mineral Deposit Research Unit during their 8-day Arizona porphyry deposits field trip. Our team, Douglas Bowden, Christopher White, Daniel Laux, Marty Rex and Harold (Bernie) Loyer, presented an in-depth exploration of the brownfield Cactus Project, emphasizing the Project's historical significance and its future potential. Highlights included showcasing porphyry copper drill core from the three Cactus Project deposits, an in situ view of copper within the Cactus West open pit, and the growing sulphide potential below the current Mineral Resource Estimate at Cactus West. Key stops on the tour included: - Discovery Hill, which played a crucial role in ASARCO’s original discovery in the 1960s. - An overlook of the Cactus pit, where 400 million pounds of copper were extracted between 1974 and 1984. - A view of the Parks/Salyer deposit from the Stockpile, which, according to our Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA), is projected to supply the majority of tonnage during years 1–20 of production.
